City to pay Bellamys wages or part thereof.

Unfair on the rest of the league IMO

When Leeds went into financial meltdown, they were paying a lot of their old players part of their wages. Deffo fowler and huckerby 5 figure sums a week

I believe Mills was the last one off the books to be paid partially by Leeds while at another club. Some of those partially paid high earners took wage cuts to help Leeds out (to avoid admin) a few took the very last penny owed to them a good 1-2 years after leaving and really did us in.

I so hope this happens.

Could be another Tomas Brolin, but could also turn out to be another Lombardo.
The guy has been training with top clubs abroad and also playing quite a bit of football, just not at the top level - if he is 75% the player he was 10 years ago this would be awesome.
Probably wont happen though  Cry

Surely he's going to be on a ridic high wage in comparison to the rest of the squad,a wage that would probably be better used spread over 3/4 other players to improve the squad as a whole?

A la David James I guess.

Not at all.
The new owners have a strict policy regarding wages which is one of the reasons that Speroni has not signed a new contract yet.

Apparantly Davids would be happy on a very small wage - can only assume that he doesnt need the money and just wants to play football.
Is certainly a strange one!

Almost came to us last year. Madaric said yes (surprise surprise), Pearson no (surprise surprise)

The wage is small but the bonuses for appaerances etc were meant to be massive, and he apparently came with a lot of "advisor baggage"

I was listening to Paul McCarthy this morning and it only dawned on me when he said it..

Real Madrid have paid less for Khedira + Ozil than City are about to pay for Milner.

Yeah thats totally ridicolous.

But they need to do it because they need English players for the English player quota so they are happy to pay about 12m more than he is worth.

Gallas to Spurs?

Five centre halves. So two permanently crocked defenders, two shit defenders and one who's not quite good enough?

Any Man City Fans tell me about Weiss? a lot of hype and i'm quite excited by the looks of him on youtube....

How do you reckon he will do in the league/champions league? looks skillful but also a bit lightweight?

Gallas is a better defender than anybody at Anfield.
