How did Rhoys Wiggins (Bournemouth LB) play?

He never really got a shot at Norwich, but deffo got the impression he was doing the business at Bournemouth.

He did well, and scored their goal.  An inswinging free-kick from out left, not 100% convinced he intended but it picked out the top corner like a dream.

I think I saw Chompy got +32 on them on the seaons handicap, real shame they literally have no strikers at the mo, they're a useful side.

oldham are a completely different team from last season, they're still not particularly good but at least dickov's got them trying to play football though you can see he's been coaching them at times as they can get very physical. all much better than last year when they were probs the most boring team in the league, happy to park the bus and play for a point away from home.

if chris taylor played against us then I can't say he impressed as I don't remember them having a winger that stood out

Did Joe Colbeck feature for Oldham? If so what did I think of his performance?

No mate, he moved to Hereford Utd in the summer.

Shows how much I get time to keep up with football these days!!

They are all injured mate! I'd say ramsden, Flynn and hanson!

We got an inexperienced keeper and no out and out striker!! Hendrie is a good coup but he's only on a short term deal!

Is a full time scouting job the dream or is coaching where you really want to go?

there isn't a lot of money bring a full-time scout for a league 1/championship club, relative to what you might think, ~30k a year maybe, plus a car...  Nothing to be baulked at I know, but a fraction of player wages.

I need to get more coaching badges really, just so I've got a stronger cv etc...  Really don't know if I'll ever do it full-time, big step...

Ive only done up to the old style equivalent of level 2, several years ago.  Need to get that sorted.

A lad i know from our local town plays for Scunthorpe Utd. His name is Martyn Woolford and started off in non league before moving York City before being signed by Scunthorpe.

He had a very good game against Man Utd in the cup the other night and wondered if u caught the performance? What did u think of him? Does a good performance in a game against Man Utd in the cup get you noticed more?

I didnt see the game the other night no Girgy, but I do know off Martyn Woolford, quite tall? Slim? ginger hair?   Strawberry blonde hair?

A performance against Utd would certainly do him no harm, but TV can provide deceptive opinions of players, especially when commentary is involved.  I think players who play well get over-praised to the hilt, vice-versa, players playing poorly get slated.

I think I saw him for Scunthrope at Stockport a year oir two back, came on as sub, left midfield.  Theyve signed a lot of lower league players and survived brilliantly imo in the Championship.

IF anyone was impressed the other night they would probably then watch him at least another 3/4 times to get a fair opinion.

Woolford is a good lad, got overshadowed a bit by Hayes and Hooper though. Sweet left foot.

I fear for Scunthorpe under Baraclough though, Adkins pulled off miracles to get them and keep them in the Championship last season

On the same note I think he'll struggle at Saints, whole different kind of pressure.
