If the lad wants to be a Scunny fan then let him. Buy him a Scunny shirt.
Its not like its Man Utd, Chelsea or Everton.

You and Tighty don't seem happy with Martin Allen. I'm not his biggest fan but is there more to the story than I can see?
Man on few month contract offered probably better job for 12 months and takes it.
This isn't a prem play moving for 5k a week more when already on 30k plus.
Allen needs to work and I think although it's not ideal I would do the same in the same position and the same in a similar position in my own industry.

The way he was spouting off all over twitter, '7 points from 21', '18 from 6' etc to me showed he was really up for the fight with them, then drops them right back in it. Maybe he needs the cash, but by keeping Barnet up he would have gained a lot of credit to restore his fairly tattered reputation I think. Now he's just added to his collection of cock ups/letting people down.

I know there is no loyalty in football and it is naive to expect managers to show any, when they themselves are often never shown any.
That said, Martin Allen was out on the cold for three years once he left Leicester. he was, in football circles, unemployable, though the reason he left was covered by a confidentiality agreement
Barnet give him a chance, and two games later he is off. Yes I know its for a contract and guaranteed money etc but he was extremely lucky to get that chance and I thought that deserved to be repaid

Still think Lambert "half my goals are penalties" is better than Murray (21 goals from open play)?

Isn't it well known he has a drink problem? A mate of his told me that.

Not just drink. Though that was three years ago, no idea of the current situation

Its a bit like arguing the merits of Dirk Kuyt with Kinfishy this debate
Personnally I take Lambert, he's done it for 4/5/6 years and does offer more open play than imo.
Murray's had a great year, but I think would have scored 25+ playing in that Brighton team.

Wasn't he sacked from Cheltenham for getting sozzled in a local boozer and decding to get naked and dance on the bar?

I had another saturday off this weekend, had the option to do a game but needs must at home, still plenty to do on the house we bought last year, outside stuff mainly.
Did the usual of getting the little fella up on sunday morning, and settled him down to watch MOTD and football league show on his mat, me on the sofa. Starting to show his colours, well a dislike of QPR anyway, Camel & AndrewT will be disappointed. In the 1st photo he's watching scunny on the attack, then when the 4th goes in, that right arm is sneaking up there to celebrate. Need to clamp down on this I think, point him in the right direction.
Nothing wrong being a scunny fan. Loads of trips to wembley a few league titles always go 1-0 up against top teams in cups (Chelsea man city man utd) and usually a lot of goals just not always in our opponents goal. Great business for a football club always buy for peanuts n sell for caviar.

Have you seen or heard reports of Jeff Schlupp, yet?
Currently at Brentford, on loan from us
Meant to be our next big thing, as much as we do big things....pacey winger
I know as much as you, in that he's scored a couple and impressed so far. I didn't see the cup final, but Colchester play Brentford in 2 weeks so will get a chance to see them/him soon maybe.
I am seeing Brentford, tomorrow at Rochdale, so will be able to report on Mr Schlupp.

what does a part-time scout do off-season?
are you renewed season by season?
Ward secure at Colchester?
Do you get involved in the turn over of players this time of year? recommendations on out of contract players etc?
