Have your heard any chat about this kid ChipPrince? Rory Donnelly is his name.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15805718.stm

Only 19 years old and scoring goals for fun in the Irish Premier League, only a matter of time before he moves to England apparently Peterborough have made a bid after his recent hattrick on Saturday past.

Looks a good prospect.

Hi Micko, sorry for the lack of a reply earlier.

I confess to knowing nothing about him to be honest, have you seen him live?

I seen this week Swansea are sniffing about, understandable with Rodgers managing I suppose.

What League would you compare the Irish Prem to over here standard wise?

I also have like 4 games to update this thread with which I will do later.

Yes i have watched him a few times live, excellant with both feet and superb in the air(has scored alot of headers so far) he's quite tall but skinny so i do think their is massive improvement especially when he bulks up in the gym and also from everyday training.

Brendan Rodgers was at the cup final recently and i honestly think all the talk has went to the kids head as he was quiet but you can just tell their is loads of quality about him, Swansea has bid 105k with add on's and the club have accepted but their is rumours Everton have made a late bid, with Seamus Coleman doing so well from the League of Ireland they must feel its worth a punt.

The Irish League is part time but some very good teams and players in it, their would be alot of players who had went to England as kids and been released at late teens so is a decent level.... Maybe some where in around bluesquare standard.

Ps get your games updated!

Yeh was a good game. Would like to see them again but some looked very tidy finishes. Hopefully done enough for somebody to take him out of our league please. We defended awfully and Huddersfield definitely deserved their point. Think O'Grady's goal looked offside. Lowe played well for us when he came on. Rob Jones is good with his head but can't kick a ball.
Would be amazed if Ben Marshall signed for either team in League 1. He's too good for this league.

I'll be perfectly honest, i can't really remeber much about the game!  Cheesy

2-2 it finished, I do remember though Martin Allen playing some bizarre formation for when they were 2-1 behind, some character he is.

A couple of weeks later I went to Oldham, This is probably the 15-20th time I've been there in the last few years, and it still throughly uninspires me! Cheesy

They were playing Crewe in a Johnstone's paint trophy game and won 3-1.

Watch out for Nick Powell of Crewe though, should go on to much more.

Start of December I took my little boy along to Northwich v Stocksbridge Park Steels, which isn't far for me from Chester, for an Evo Stik prem game.  They're going well in this league battling against Chester at the top, who as it goes are getting around 2,500 a game in this league.

I wasn't looking at anyone in particular, it was more an afternoon out the house to let mum get on with her Uni work than anything, so paid on the gate.

Northwich won 2-0.

Another trip to Oldham next!

They were playing Bradford in the Johnstone paint trophy next round and won 2-0.  Bradford for me, are shocking, apols Girgy.

Shefi Kuqi got the 2nd, now captain for Oldham, likes being the big fish in a small pond I think.

Then on saturday just gone I was Bramhall Lane for the 1st time, Sheff Utd v Hartlepool.  I was scheduled to be there last xmas time when they played Swansea (!!) in a league game, but I didn't end up going because of bad weather.  How those 2 seem so far apart at the moment.

Was in Sheffield early as it was a 1 ko being on new years eve, my girlfriend and boy came too and I dropped them at Meadowhall for about 11:30 and went inside for 15mins, then drove over to the ground, managed to find street parking up a right hill somehwere, free anyway.

Hartlepool very average, fair to say Ched 'The Beast' Evans had them for breakfast and some.  He's selfish sometimes, but boy in L1 he's right up there.

3-0 at half-time killed the game, was a poor second half and Utd just rode it out.  James Beattie came on for the 10mins.

Then on monday I had a long one up to Hartlepool, for my 3rd visit up there but 1st in about 18 months.  The street where I parked before now had double yellows so had to look elsewhere, found by Blockbuster and Staples not far from the ground for free which was a bonus (I'm tight, I'd prefer to walk 20mins than pay £3 for parking).  Cheesy

Hartlepool again, poor, and poor, and poorer.  weather wasn't too bad to be fair, some sun shining through and Scunthorpe another poor side this season played ok to win 2-1.

Was back in Chester by 7:45pm to watch the darts final, big Lewis fan too so a nice bonus (ty ty StanJ)  Cheesy

Bradford have two teams. Sometimes shocking than go on a 4 game unbeaten run with 3 wins on trot then get stuffed next game 3-0 Sad
