What's the purpose of the car? Family run around? Use for work? Motorway or town driving?

You say you have upto £9k you could buy brand new for that!

You could probably barter about £500 off the screen price! If you buy private ie autotrader you could haggle even more!

I'm guessing your not into the mechanical side so when going to view a car I'd ask somebody to go with you to check out the engine and bodywork etc

Ah, I know a good place down here, have a look see if they have anything you fancy. I know the sales blokey well and he will give you the heads-up on the genuine condition.

cheers herbie had a quick look and the  only 1 that caught my eye was the 325i

but am looking for a slightly newer version but if i do have a change of mind the 2001 X BMW 3 SERIES 325 Ci Auto 2 Door Coupe
TOPAZ BLUE METALLIC, 70000 Miles, @ £5,999 would be near what i'm after

Get the 330i mate it's loads quicker. Not just top speed, it's shed loads quicker all round with it's extra 35 horses.

Make sure you get the sport as well cus it looks much better.

Shouldn't be much more expensive than a 325i and you'll prefer it in the long run.

yeah with you on the tyre thing..drive me nuts.

TBF to Boshi, he knows I've driven old Mercs for quite a while now and I told him MrsB doesn't want me driving one anymore (I drive proper old Mercs..M and P reg etc and every now and again they need a bit of TLC from the garage Smiley )
