apparently they can get away with hotspot decisions that are very faint if they have stickers on their bats where the ball hits as they don't show up like hitting the wood does. I suppose this decision is the reverse of that so it evens out?

The referal system itself hasnt failed here, as the referal system is in place to take out the absolute stinking decision's. In real time, (and slowmotion for that matter) this is far from a stinker. One thing i hate about the referal system is that it can be used to really knock a team's confidence, ie james anderson being given a wicket, the whole team celebrating, it gets refferd, and the whole team is on a low, i dont think this is right.
