so do i contribute or not? lol

Well we hope so. We are still considerably short of the cost, so yes, the £25 would help.

blondepoker are not currently able to fund Updates, so the shortfall is coming from donations.

no worries, i will forward to adrian

At the moment nothing is sorted.
Potential updaters are there in the pipeline if the funds can be gathered. Anyone fancy contributing? 2 x £100 would get us there. PM me if so, ty.

DTD, who will have some 10 or 12 players in the Luton GUKPT, have just rung me & donated £200 towards the Live Update. Phew......

Don't forget, DTD have a SUPER Satellite (5 seats I believe) THIS Thursday at DTD, 9pm, plus another 5 seat Online Super Sat this coming Sunday.

So, TEN SEATS up for grabs.

I don't get it, if it cost £200 where's the extra £25 going? What do you mean by 'the cost'?

Is it going ahead thanks to DTD, as per your post at 5.15, or are you not able to do it, as per your post at 6?

I would consider chipping in for this once in a while, but I hope you can understand my confusion on the subject from your contradictory posts Huh?

Food+Petrol I'd imagine.

Total cost is 450 or so. Dtd covering 200 so 250 to find from chompy, itb and others. We won't be claiming petrol, food or anything else

I'm sorry it looked confusing. Thats because it was....

The way it panned out, & my preference not to divulge exact names, costs & fees was at the root of this.

When Chompy said "£2 x £100 would get us there", the position was that.....

There was a shortfall of £200, as follows.....

Chompy & myself had already agreed privately to pay around £250 of the required (approx) £450, leaving the shortfall of £200 that Chompy mentioned. If the £200 was not fothcoming, I had agreed to underwrite & pay the shortfall, or any part thereof. So we hoped for £200 to get us over the line.

DTD then pledged the £200 in a phone call betwen Nick Whiten & myself this afternoon.

I confirmed this to Tighty & Chompy straight away.

I then requested of Nick Whiten that he paid the £200 to Tighty, Tighty then confirmed he would sort it out with Nick in Nottingham this weekend.

Chompy then wrote back to me to confirm that Rockstar would get £225 for his work - being £100 from Chompy, £25 from ITB, & £100 from myself. In fact, this leaves Rockstar £25 light, which I'll pay myself if no further donations are received.

Sorry if I presented it in a confusing manner, but now you know the full SP.

My thanks go to DTD, ITB, & Chompy for the funding, & to Tighty & Rockstar for doing the gig at "trade price".

If anyone else wants to pay a bit, it will lessen the contribution pledged by Chompy & myself, & be very welcome.

Just to confirm - The Luton GUKPT Main Event Live Update WILL now go ahead, & we have agreed this with Luton, & GUKPT. This is irrespective of any further pledges that may or may not be received.

OK cool, thanks for the explanation Tikay. Since I've made a nuisance of myself Cheesy, I'm gonna go ahead and pledge £25 too. I might end up playing, depends if I can bring myself to actually go to Luton which is the main sticking point. Do they still have that ridiculous shoe policy? Either way I've enjoyed many a blonde live update for free in the past and will follow this one if I don't play so want to do my part, to whom do I ship the money?

This is why James Keys is the shizzle (but if you 3 bet me with 97 suited again so help me God....)

That would be terrific, thank you. Another £25 off my liability!

Please pass the cash to either Chompy or Rockstar, both will be at Luton. Rockstar, well, looks like a rockstar, sort of a cross between Metallica & a 70's rock band drummer, very handsome in a rugged way, though a touch effiminite. Chompy is a hairy plump chap, in his mid-fifties, usually wearing a dated Peterborough shirt.

The Luton "shoe Policy" remains intact, thank God, a last bastion against those dreadful plimsolls, trainers & Jesus sandals.

Thank you.

If you plan to be at Luton for the GUKPT, give it to Chomps please, then he & I can square up when I next see him.

Alternatively, give it to Tighty in DTD this weekend, & he'll give it to me in due course.

Appreciated.

Happy Days, thanks John. I may even be in Nottingham on Sunday, though not Saturday.

I'll split any "saving" (on the £200 that Chomps & I are sticking in) between he & myself 50/50.  Someone will need to work all this out though, I'm going dizzy here.

Given the recent embarrassing issues relating to monies being owed/repaid, would it not be a good idea to set up a more formal mechanism for this rather than the 'give it to me next time you see me' route?

Perhaps, John, but it came together quickly, & I have had a trusting relationship with most of these guys (Chomps & John in particular, but no money issues whatsoever with any of the others, either) for many years.

The original plan was that Chomps & I split the whole cost down the middle, so the fallback position remains that, & so even if the worst came to the worst, we'd be no worse off.
