Not just me who's sick of the prima donna cheating bs then!!!

I've got a season ticket as I'd paid for our 3 year scheme but other than the Sunderland game I doubt I'll bother going to many if any of the other games.

Might be interested in taking the ticket off you for an occasional match if possible?

Let me know if/when and see if we can sort it out. It's up in the gods if that puts you off though.

Awesome, will PM you about it. My little brother or even my dad might be interested too so I'll speak to them.

So that's what happens when you play Gerrard in his best position.

Who'dathunkit?

Loved Fabio's grumpy face after that wonderful second goal - he knows tomorrow's back page headline will be 'WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT IN SOUTH AFRICA YOU ITALIAN TWAT?'

So Becks has been ousted by Fabio, makes me pretty sad. I don't think Beckham had much else to offer on the pitch, but as a presence in the dressing room I think he will be missed, he is the only player who seems to give a toss and I think it would have had a big impact on some of the younger players who are gonna get brought into the squad to play alongside him for 20 minutes or whatever.

But who cares, top flight and international footy is pants

I effing love David Beckham. I love the "i'll always be available if ever needed" attitude he has.
I was gutted when Maclaren said he wouldn't play under him and delighted when he recalled him.
Gutted that he didn't make the World Cup.
He's always said that he will never retire from international football so you just don't pick him if you don't want him. I hate the Maclaren and now Fabio think they need retire him. Just don't pick him unless you need him.
The suggestion of the farewell friendly didn't sit well with me. I love the bloke and there is nobody i would like to see get a standing ovation at Wembley more than David Beckham but you earn caps. I don't think we should start International testimonials. I sort of warmed to the idea of a charity match MUFC XI V England XI at Wembley where it was an FA England XI but no caps awarded but still wasn't sure.
Then i get home and see "David Beckham says he will reject Fabio Capello's offer to play in a farewell match at Wembley".
Top man.

Anyone who's English and doesn't respect the efforts he's put in for his country is clueless,to quote Steven Gerrard "He's a Legend"

Should never have played again after the sending off versus Argentina.

Dont get the big deal tbh - Fabio is asked if Beckham is too old to play, Fabio says yes. I dont see where there is a story.

I don't want to sound rude as i respect your posts but i don't get this.
Just because the story can be simplified it doesn't mean it's not a story.
It's like saying "Roy asked Mascherano if he wanted to play for Liverpool. Mascherano said no. I don't see where there is a story"
One of England's most capped players who was in most qualifying squads and until his injury was set to go to the World Cup has now (for the 2nd time) been retired by an England manager. You don't do this. If he's too old you don't pick him.
He didn't just say Beckham was too old to play. He said he wouldn't pick him for a competitive game but wanted him to play one friendly to say goodbye. A player that has always said he will never retire from international football doesn't need or want a game to say goodbye as he's said he will always be available a game to say goodbye retires him and he said he wouldn't do it.
He could have been treated with a bit more respect imo. Call him and say you're looking at new players but if we need you we'll call you, been a great servant etc, maybe you could join us at the Euro's again to help the players as you have experienced big tournaments etc.
Don't tell him on ITV in the tunnel before the game. He didn't need to answer the question. Beckham wasn't fit so he could just have said "we will see".
Beckham's international career isn't a big story anymore but it's still a story, especially when it's linked to the actions of the under pressure England manager.

He definitely deserved a lot more respect, the fact Capello got Baldini to ring him and tell him is a joke imo.

Reason why its important to me is Beckham represents the last player in the current line up with the attitude I think is needed to play for England, the last player who gives a shit and actually raises their game for their country rather than viewing it as a marketing gig.

I hope Becks plays again and Fabio gets sacked now, but in fairness I have pretty much stopped caring about International football after this summer.

Do you not think he has earned the right to be shown a bit more respect than hearing he is being retired via a television interview in broken English?

IMO Capello wanted to be sacked after the WC,and his actions since(ignoring the u-19's and now this) are the actions of a man who not only couldn't care less if he is sacked but would quite like it.
