Don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm thinking of getting a netbook.  Anyone bought one recently and can recommend one, or should I just look on acerdirect...

or you can get things like a baby monitor, can't remember what they're called but you plug one in a mains socket by your router and one near your computer and run a cat5 cable from the router into one and from the other into your comp. broadband signal then goes through the mains and you have a hardwired connection without running a cable through the house

for netbooks, the Lenovo ('ideapad') is the business.

Whatever you go for, get one with the Intel Atom Dual Core processor.

I've got a Samsung R730 which i bought from Amazon about 4 months ago. So far so good. It's my first laptop so can't really compare to others. The battery life doesn't seem too brilliant, but, i use mains power mostly anyway. Other than that, i'm well pleased with it so far. It cost me £451 at the time. The prices seem to fluctuate a bit though.
