Good luck with your big day, Mr Leonard.
This caught my eye...... (I read ALL your stuff!)......

If true - & I'm sure you are right - it means I must have been like this very fine Gentleman, then & now. Incredibly, I believe he retired before you were born. Ugh at being so old.

It's Sunday, vamosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
Also may sound so stupid but listening to birds in the morning is strangely therapeutic.
My tip for summer is that England going to do reallllllly well, we are huge underdogs this year for perhaps the first year since I was born, I haven't heard one person say we're going to do a win. I think the players are really going to come together and we will be a very strong unit. I think set pieces are going to be so crucial, and could be the difference, we have some really big lads and even Gerrard and lampard are bigger and stronger than today's stereotypical centre midfielder. Remember Greece showed in 2000 that you don't have to have a talented team.!

Hey, not sure who that guy is, I'm on iPhone and and can't save image and see the initial title lol
Good luck in notts today or as the new Brazilian generation would say vamossssss. Regarding the brazilians they absolutely love the game. You will never find a Brazilian playing cash they always always play tournaments l, they love to peel raises, they love to go all in and they are actually starting to get quite good, if you look at the last 2 tables in most stops they are there or there abouts. As a nation they probably aren't as educated as the Uk but I really don't think education has a big impact, if you look at the top players in the UK I assume most of them went straight into poker from school and their success has been strictly down to very very hard work combined with a little bit of natural talent. I'd say vannessa selbst, bonomo, Scott seiver and Isaac haxton are the kinda guys who are where they are because of natural talent and intelligence and are able to beat high stakes cash/sng/mtt and mixed games as they are able to quickly pick things up and get game theory a lot quicker.

Gl Pee Leno.
Probs haven't posted here in a while but loving your determination to improve. Cos used to be blondes reg who loved the game the most, but reckon you have taken his crown.
Yeh Pads has defo taken that crown.
I still love the game but now there's just so many other things I love too that poker isn't set apart - it's just among them.
Also Pads, from reading your posts over the months I think you're much better suited to cash than MTTs.

Agree with all of this and generally would like to add if the English press werent so generally negative/cynical about every tournament it may rub off on the players. No expectation will be a great thing.
Love myself some bird chime.
Trappatoni's Ireland are the new 'Greece' to look out for a complete shock. The man got us qualified for european competition starting probably the worst team going over there on paper. St Ledger starts ffs and dont even know what club he plays for now! Collectively such a unit tho like Chelsea in semis and finals of cl.
Lovely cash game graph, I completely despise cash but its good to see with very hard work the games can still be beaten nicely if I ever turn to it.
You are clearly a man that likes to revise hard with poker and i respect that as I am the opposite. What learning resource do you find most beneficial to you developing as a player? We have hh review, watching videos, checking sng shoving ranges or just the general want and ability to keep pushing the action creatively and learning from the experience of your plays going right/wrong?
I have always just did the latter and had a blast in the process, but relying on that alone is affecting my bottom line without me knowing it even tho I am doing ok without any hard revision. Where do i start? Been in the game for 5 years and still not 100% on icm mathematically, always just going off feel, which must be close to optimum but may well have a blaring mistake somewhere.

Oioi Ant. Regarding knowing icm I understand your position and usually you're never going to be too far off. Pokerstrategy have a tool called icm trainer where you practice tough icm decisions and it's quite a good thing to do when you're travelling or bored etc, shoul check it out.
I really don't like watching training videos im very eager to just play an I can't really wath more than 20 mins, again apologies for the ps push but pokerstrategy are going to make almost all videos 15min max which will be so much better and I will definitely be more inclined to watch then.
Personally I play probably the most aggressive style and stats from probably anybody successful at mid stakes so Im constantly in decisions that people don't get into and this can never be really more qualified than myself in answering. I'm very very happy to go to war with anybody and I think with PHA/ hh reviews etc game flow and meta game are just not considered nearly as much as they should be. In any hand you Gould probably be able to write about 2 paragraphs about the villain in each hand you play. People laugh at me a lot as when they ask me a hh question I ask what they consider to be really stupid questions but I've realised that from playing this ridiculously aggressive style you really really need to take into account everything possible.
One thing that I would suggest everybody used to try and improve is a Holdem manager review where a guy goes into your database and finds leaks from stats that can't comprehensively be profitable no matte what the situation is. As a coah myself I really like the way that I try to develop players and believe anybody getting a coach should book at the very minimum 6 sessions, possibly even 10.

Haha incred hand, generally in cash I just do lots of small pounding and then wait for them to blow, I think the best part of a great players game is that they know where or whereabouts their opponent is in each hand and know when they can take anymore. I know deab23price gets a lot of stick because he says doubt they can take anymore, but it's so so true and knowing what you can do to your opponent and how they are probably going to react is what separates ok players from great players and is one of the main reasons that I never play more than 6 tables. Because im getting more confident in my reading abilitys I've started playing turbo tables which give you 5 seconds to make a decision and no time bank available. I have a plan vs virtually all of the regs and know how I'm going to exploit it basically meaning the cards don't become as relevant as I know in going to bluff catch light vs some and bluff vs others.. The other regs still try to play each hab individually which is super tough with such little time to think.

I think preparation in games is very underrated. In the gala game with the playerpool not having a plan here is pretty poor. I haven't wrote it down but i have a decent enough memory for hands/tendencies and can easily adjust a hypothetical situation to adjust this. With the K9s hand i posted a while ago, I'd been planning that for months vs a potential of 3 regs, where i felt like I'd stack them a huge % of the time. Yeah cooler with AK vs K9 on Ks9s5 but he went mental at the same time, and that was something I'd thought of prior. Obviously having a plan is important, and so is tendencies, but how in depth do you go? Especially as you seem to think outside of the box so often, i.e the 22 thread you posted recently. I've felt noticed I've been check/raising the river a lot less, this is partly because it felt like it wasn't working enough. Playing more on the edge of ym seat, i was willing to just pull the trigger. I guess my question is; do you feel like planning can go to far? And how do you adapt this in game? Is there anything i should do to think over all 3 options instead of the two more traditional options on the river, i,e bet/fold or check/call when in actuality, check/raise is best. Is just being aware of this the enough?
I just started writing and this came out. Hope it makes sense, please keep up the regular updates, I've found it inspiring and exams end in 5 hours, so i can do something about it!
