So the live binge is over now. Played in absolutely the biggest game ive played in a long time and perhaps ever. It was a regular 5-10-20-40 basically with the occasional 80.
Over the weekend I didnt have better than 77 pre flop or AT pre flop in holdem which is really hard haha. I ended up winning a low 4 figure number for the trip which is totally fine, I think my expectation in that game would have been very high and I like making decisions to play those kind of games. Usually it either goes very well or very bad so grinded out a relatively small win felt nice.
Anyway I came back and played 2k hands today and obviously ran very well haha. I ran about 4bis above ev which Ill definitely take.
Not sure why the graph doesnt work, but if you click it auto pops up.
Went for a meal with 10 poker players tonight. It was a chinese restaurant which specialized in duck and was absolutely incredible. Flipped for the meal and didnt pay either which is good as it was pretty big with a lot of shots, drinks and we ordered an excessive amount of food.
Im only 12k vpps away from supernova so will hopefully crack that out before end of month and cash in a few 1600 dollar bonuses.
Im implementing lots of very different strategies into my game making me feel super confident and really enjoying the whole poker thing at the moment.

I actually interviewed him some years ago, but just poker stuff, I was more interested in what he is like as a person, away from poker.
He reportedly made what many might consider a controversial, or perhaps ill-advised, Facebook Post yesterday, which has received much attention. It took me quite by surprise, so I just wondered if Patrick, who presumably knows him "off-table", knew if he was always so strongly opinionated.

He's a strong character who is very opiniated. He's not very good at poker but hes very good t being professional, not tilting and as his book reads treating it like a business.

I'm chums with Dusty, via our mutual best bud Jared. I was quite surprised by his comments yesterday.
He is a lovely fella in real life, really laid back and unassuming. He is an incredibly devoted family man, which explains but doesn't excuse the comments. Online I think he steps into something of a persona. He has made money being controversial (got sponsorship, his books etc) so I think he is a little bit more trigger happy than most when it comes to stirring up controvsery (I'm not excusing his actions btw, just giving context).

Anyone else out there completely appalled by Adrian Peterson taking the field today 2 days after his son died? His 2 year old kid got beat to death by some animal and 2 days later Adrian deems it appropriate to play in a football game. I'd be too busy trying to break into jail so I could kill that guy with my bare hands to play a football game.
A pro golfer will withdraw on the weekend of a major with the lead to witness the birth of their child. A pro football player plays game 6 of a 16 game season 2 days after their son is beat to death. How did the team owner or coach let this happen? I'd tell him he can't play just to save Adrian's reputation. I hope Adrian gets paralyzed on the field next week just so he can't again breed another kid who will grow up with a despicable father who is never around. Pathetic.

Ahh, I assumed it was true, hence my question to you.

I'm just trying to scratch beneath the surface of what he said.
On the face of it, it was very ill-advised.
The view, the sentiment, right or wrong, was fine, but, as with so many poker players, who do not do "reasonable", he posted his view in a very extreme & I would suggest regrettable manner. And it was that I was trying to understand. I mean we must assume he is reasonably bright, so that was a bit of an edgy thing to put out there.
Anyway......I've since (in the last 10 minutes, thank you Mr Man) learned a little more about his background, & life, & so it now makes more sense to me. Thats not to say I agree, & I do not, but its easy just to jump on people when they say daft things, but takes a little efort to scratch beneath the surface to find out why. There can, of course, never be a valid excuse for wishing someone to be paralyzed. And I doubt he actually wishes such a thing - like so many in the poker world (& perhaps outside it), he lacks the ability to communicate his thoughts in a controlled & reasonable manner.
For context - we don't want to jump to conclusions, do we? - the blonde thread about it is here....

It makes much more sense now Barry, thanks. I still disagree, of course - I imagine everyone would - but it helps to understand why people do & say certain illogical things.
