So, I haven't really been that active as far as playing goes recently. I haven't grinded properly for probably 2 months, I had a lot of things to sort out and the new role I took at work meant I was just generally v v busy and didn't have the time for poker. When I did have the time for poker, I was just absolutely shattered and would have fallen asleep really quickly/played terrible.
I used to have a lot of ambition, I wanted to be the "Best in the business" or "Make $100k in 12 months" or "Be the best reg in the world" now I am basically a recreational player. I play poker when I can, if I can't play for a couple of months then thats how it is, but generally I will play if and when I can. "Recreational" is the new word everybody in the industry is using to describe fish, they think that if they call them recreational then it isn't an insult, but it really is just a name they say so they don't think they are acting out of line. Hopefully I can put a different stance to the "recreational" term and don't lose all of my money, but for now, I'm happy to deposit, play, smile and enjoy. I think I play good, so hopefully more than not I will end up with more money in the account than what I started with, but if I don't then it's not the end of the world.
Continuing on the "recreational" route, I'll probably look to continue playing live tournaments around the world which help me 1) Get out and see places and 2) Play some fun live poker, which I do generally enjoy and get quite a lot out of it. As I've mentioned previously, its v v likely I'll be returning to England in April to play the Monte Carlo.
As far as online goes, I really have tried lots of sites, almost every site I've just never wanted to grind or enjoy playing that much, but when I play on Microgaming its like another world, the software is crazy good, the cards are super sexy and the players are action players. What do I mean? Well on sites say, ipoker the regs are incredibly nitty and games are slow, on Stars the fish are pretty nitty, likewise the regs, on Microgaming, the regs want to go to war and the fish aren't going to limp fold their money to you. On the 2p2 Microgaming Regs thread there is literally dozens of HU4ROLLZ arguments, everybody absolutely hates everybody and its every man for himself.
So like I said, I managed to get some volume in this weekend..
Because I'm not playing as much and I'm a total degenerate, myself and ImFromSweden are staking quite a few guys, mainly playing 100-200nl.
They are really improving super quick, 2 of the guys are 2 of the best/most well known guys on UK poker circuit, trying to get to grips with cash, one is a v v good German theoretical player who just needs a little guidance in the right direction and the other is a young UK guy who is fundamentally very good. V V confident in this group of players and trying to spend as much time as possible with them over the next few months and hopefully can guide them up the stakes, its a really fun challenge and will blog about the ups and downs of it without going into too much detail.
Do they all hate valentines day?

Hope you don't mind me biting, here...
What do you think villain had, here?
Do you put him on two small-mid diamonds (89?) or is it more a case of you saying "he doesn't have
or
so he can't ever take a raise"? I assume at your level, that is rarely a consideration, as people are good enough to decide your story doesn't check out.
Why can't he have
?

Repping QQ or JJ? I'd think a big diamond is more likely than flopping a set and smoothing all the way down to the river. KK with
I could maybe believe.
On occasions, I find hand analysis interesting. This play is so far outside my playbook, I'm keen to learn.
Obviously, the more I say on this, the more I demonstrate my ignorance, so I'll pipe down now.

It was read specific in game vs a guy who has very certain tendencies and at the time thought I was a big station, i.e always calling diamonds otr and never shoving. I was pretty sure he had
or potentially
and would b/f.
At 400nl I don't really ever see people attacking these boards as a raise, they may stab initially to rep one diamond, but never re-raise a bet on the river and usually play v honest.

haha. The guy behind their site is Dan Quinn and does a very good job of keeping everything ticking over and there is a good mutual respect between the two companies.

Pleno, to me, that's quite a sick bet on the end. Are you putting villain on a King of some kind?
