LOLDONKAMENTSSo its been around 2 days since Sunday. My emotions have been extremely swingy. From the very highs "wow wtf i made 250k in the last 10 days" to "fml it was 1 mirrion for first and the final had 5 fish on it"
I have to be balanced though and put things into perspective. I have ran incredibly well over the last 10 days, I dont mean particuarly running AA into KK every orbit, but I havent been put into a lot of cooler situations when I have busted in super super standard spots.
On Sunday I swapped with all of my housemates and friends in Budapest. By 5am the rail was 4 man deep and everytime I won a pot we all high fived and loved life. It was great, I felt like I was playing the best I ever have, I had a great grasp of how everybody on the table was playing and understood my perceived image well.
I ran incredibly well with 25ish players left winning TT v JJ aip in v standard spot. I had 3 very very unlucky spots that I feel combined cost me over 250k in equity and then the final hand which probably cost me 500k in equity. But its fine, I cant moan and its unfair on all of the players who grind very hard and have ran bad over large sample sizes.
Right now Im in a difficult decision, a luxury decision perhaps, but definitely a difficult one. What to do now? In January I set my poker goals for the year. I intended on grinding 5 hours a day, EVERY day for the whole year to make a combined profit of post and pre rakeback of 200k. Over the last 10 days I have eclisped that figured and I now have more manouverability with my options and my bankroll.
I never expected to be at this stage, but being a professional means adjusting to your surroundings and making good decisions. Playing MTTs full time with lots of withered mid week schedules would be a very bad decision. Both in terms of money ev and life ev. Playing 500nl every day for the rest of the year wouldnt be a good decision, both in terms of money ev and life ev. Im in a situation now where I can be aggressive with my bankroll but not reckless, as long as I manage that well I should do well.
Ive decided that playing MTTs is infact a good idea! HAHAHA, I know it sounds silly after running good in a couple of tournaments after previously complaining alot, but I genuinely think I have progressed as a player a lot over the last month or so. The simple fact is that 4 of the top 20 MTT players in the world as classed as fish in the games which I am beating at a good rate. There is a lot of money in MTTs and Im going to put myself in good tournaments that will give me good chances of making deep runs and winning good money. There is no point in me playing turbos, I am not a turbo player, it doesnt suit my game and my hourly playing them will not be great.
Just to reiterate, Im definitely going to keep playing a lot of cash games. I may play slightly bigger if I can find good spots to get in good games, but if not Im content grinding nl500 and 1k. SNE looks a little bit unlikely now, but who knows, its definitely possible. After Vegas there will be 4-5 months with very few live tournaments so I will very likely be grinding a lot.
I really need to make sure I dont sacrifice my life EV. Things with my girlfriend are very good right now and I also have the chance to travel to some places Ive never been to play live tournaments.

This is 3, potentially 4 very big trips. Very expensive trips, but trips which can give me a chance to have a very big score as well as securing some life EV. Hopefully Ingrid will join to San Remo, and Vegas for a week and I will be doing video blogs, and updating this blog very very reguarly. I hope you can enjoy the journey with me and hopefully we can continue the run good and beef up the Hendon Mob.
Between Remo and Vegas, SCOOP is here. I sold 30% for Vienna and Remo, making sure I dont be too aggressive with my bankroll and allowing me to play as many tournaments as possible to reduce the variance as much as I can. Depending on how well SCOOP and the EPTs go I will consider how much I will sell for Vegas. Will be a very important decision BR wise.
I wont be playing any poker from Friday-Wednesday, my parents are visiting me in Budapest so it will be nice to just completely switch off from it all and then come back fresh next week.
