Apologies for the spam, this is probably going to make a lot of people lol.

http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2010/10/uk-pokernews-exclusive-interview-audley-harrison-full-tilt-5976.htm

I've never been a fan of Audley as a boxer, but have respected how he has kept his poker under the radar (until now), as a boxing fan I couldn't turn this down and he dissapointed me by being a really nice guy.

OMG!

I played 1/2 with audley at the golden nugget - and he was average at best

why sign up such unrespected (in his original chosen discipline) lemons, when there are so many good uk pros out there who would have a much bigger impact.

I'm guessing due to exposure rather than "just another poker pro"- he might be shizer at both poker and boxing but he's a brand name(albeit maybe in a negative context)- plus advertising in the Haye fight is pretty mega for FTP

Even an unpopular but famous boxer is going to bring more new players to the table than an established poker pro

Why do you think a pro would have a big impact?

I think pros apart from the very big names are a waste of money to tbh. Don't know many people they have ever really influenced to play on a site. Thewy is the only exception I can think of who has influenced where I have played a bit.........

They are better off with an Audley Harrison or Boris Becker etc....

I reckon Ivey, Hellmuth, Doyle and Daniel might attract new players to a room, maybe Tony G, Antonio, Phil Laak too. Why these players? Because they kind of have a WWE esque character/brand that has a broader appeal to non poker players. Other than that, cant see anyone who is just good at poker bringing new blood to the tables.

He'll be fully tilted to 90 degrees when Haye knocks him over in the first round.
