He's absolutely hopeless, but this being heavyweight boxing he always has a punchers chance, but please god NOOOOOOOOOOO!

He doesn't deserve a shot at the Midlands area title never mind this.

He doesn't have a punchers chance, because he never throws a punch!

He grabs, he runs and he hides.

Do you think the bookies have Audrey's price wrong then Keith?

How would you price him for the fight?

To be honest boxing is a sport I dislike intensely and I've only ever had two bets on it.

I think its he exploitative sport imignable, with rich old men making huge amounts of money on the backs of young poor men risking life and limb in the slim hopes of getting rich and famous.

The only reason I know anything about Harrison is because a mate used to work for Cantor Index who sponsored him when he turned pro after his Olympic success.

He spent many hours telling me what a clown Harrison was.

I haven't a clue how they bet on this fight, but off the top of my head 1/12 Haye sounds about right.

Barry's right, sadly

I always overestimate the extent to which the general populace is aware of the likes of Ivey and Negraneau, let alone Someone like Jake Cody

The pool of those genuinely keen on poker is far smaller than you'd think, and an endorsement from a "hot celeb of the moment", especially in a global context, is the way to attract new blood to the game/sites

If you stopped 100 randoms in the street to name a famous poker player you might be lucky if a couple of them said something like the Devilfish, the Hendon Mob or Vicky Coren. I'd actually wager more people are aware of who Tikay is over Roland De Wolfe or Channing (Which is nearly on a par with my Cody/Widdicombe reference).

Apologies to Jake for singling him out but its probably because I think he is the best of an incredibly talented young bunch we have in the UK. Maybe he can use my quote in the blonde sig?

Willing to bet you against this. Think more people know Channing and De Wolfe.

Random people on the street? I'd be interested, how would you propose we did it?

I'd probably bet that at least 90% of 'randoms' wouldn't have a clue who Neil or Roland are.  If you showed them photos of them and told them their names, maybe it'd improve the percentage by a couple of percent, but not much.  I'm sure most randoms wouldn't know who tikay is either.  Be funny to hear the answers though, probably most would be guesses associated to the Last of the Summer Wine.

I'd be with Barry on this

Stand on any high St, three pics of Manbag, Wolfebag and Chanbag and I reckon tikay's 865 exposure would get him more name checks over a sample of 100 random punters

reckon all three would be sub 5%

Who are the most famous poker players in terms of the 'general public'?  There are sportsmen who transcend their sport, for example top boxers in their own country and really top boxers are often well known throughout the world.  Same goes for footballers, and the absolute top names in other major sports.

I don't think many poker players are well-known outside the poker-playing world.

Those who aren't interested in athletics, how many athletes who are currently competing can you name - other than Usain Bolt and Paula Radcliffe?

I'd say TK/Channing/Rolo would be sub 1% in a truly random UK survey.

I reckon Ivey/Negreanu/Hellmuth might ever so slightly transcend poker in the States. Hachem the same in Oz and a few others like that (Tony G is mahoosive in Lithuania)

I think the most recognised poker players would be Ivey, Negreanu, Hellmuth, Doyle and Ferguson (has a unique look). Think they all would still get less 10% knowing who they were on the street. We live in our own little poker bubble, most of my mates wouldn't have a clue who these guys are.

in the UK it'd be roughly the same for any of these guys - anyone who plays poker would probably be able to name them all, anyone who doesn't wouldn't have a clue who any of them are.
