even the poker question is ridic. I read some updates for a bit but doubt I've ever read the end of a dtd 300 one so have no idea who's ever won. and I can't pass that

non passable questions really need to be somehthing that it's impossible to fail. the specifics of one particular tournament that most don't play and that isn't the wsop doesn't fall into that category

can mods monitor who opens old update threads to cheat?

August was a good £300 comp iirc.

was a weak field

I am! Just amazed that people can't name at least one album that has been number one this year.

Out of that lot, I will change Q1 completely, modify Q12 to character names and reword 5, 8 & 15.

10 is staying.

9, I will probably change for another well known show.

Pending your changes, that is progress. Well done.

Problem is you have Laxie who is 55yo and Trafficjam and me who are 40yo and Claw who is 21yo. Claw might be expected to know the albums but how will Laxie?

Wow, Trafficjam is going to be pissed to see she has had a decade added to her age

Sure lovin' going from 30 something (technicalities and all) to 55 too.

No way I could do this. I can kind of understand why people who are in to TV and music think that TV actors and number 1 albums are general knowledge. But they aren't. General knowledge is made up of facts that have a general relevance or importance beyond their own specific sphere, or which at least filter out into the wider public consciousness, so you can be aware of them from more than one angle. (Eg name a member of the Mitchell family in eastenders - I never watch it but still know two or three). Facts about number 1 albums and music festivals have no relevance to anything beyond the album chart or that music festival, so if you don't them then you just don't know them.

My SCD question was acceptable because it involved well known celebrities and as such received widespread media coverage. Even if you dont watch the show the chances are you'll have encountered a name in a news article.

The apprentice features 16 unknowns and has less media coverage. If you don't watch the show you have no chance. Even if their names are in the news you won't recognise them and likely have no interest in the story hence you won't remember them. Hence it's not general knowledge. Hence it's a bad question for the rsq.

I haven't watched one episode of the current series of Strictly - but I know from other people's conversations and from catching glimpses of the show being advertised who's in it (I see the 'thing' that is Widdecombe dancing around and that image sticks in my mind, same with a lot of the other 'celebs').  I knew maybe 8 of the current people in it (no idea if they're still in it or not).

I watch the apprentice and can only give you the full name of one of the entrants, and that's because he's a brand.  I know the first names of some of the others, but that's about it.  Without Google, the question is ridic.

are questions in the OP the revised ones?  Have only just seen the thread and can't give an answer for 6 of them Sad  As I am only 21yo and well clever something is amiss with this rsq imo.
