Losing too much hands like these ... SNG
«

6 max SNG hand, standard blind scoop raise, floated weak bet on flop expecting they'd check fold turn, instead they bet weak again so I raise to rep flush, top pair, whatever....they check call river with bottom pair...other than passing pre (which doesn't seem right) should I be raising flop or raising less on turn? Is it wrong to be losing like this so early on...villains hand seems way too light but I donk off a lot of these

I have started folding these hands pre even on the btn, yeah I know lol nitaments rather raise hands that easier to play post. Would rather raise 43s tbh.
If you are going to raise his donk, much rather do it on the flop than turn and wouldn't make it as much think 250-300 does the job. I am giving up the river, this guy is clearly a weak player who is rarely folding. Your hand might even be good/chopping.

very easy fold pre in this format. that's stopped you losing any more of these

if you don't know what you're repping why do you think you're going to convince oppo?

if ICM means we gotta play tight, should we minraise pre vs regs and fold if there's fish (like this guy) in the blinds?

Cos his bet feels too much like he's betting exactly what he has and I can't help myself! I just hate raising flop then getting shoved, so I like to see what happens on turn..I think raising too much he figures he's come this far and can't fold on river?

Raise donk bet on the flop, once the diamond hits you should just fold
Yeah fold pre as standard, although Rupert's suggestion is reasonable...

+1 to everything Longy said - especially raise the flop or don't bother. Raising this turn is pretty bad I think as his flop min donk bet means he'll have the flush quite a lot of the time here. (See how many times in these games you can raise a flop min bet, raise a turn min bet, and then fold to a quarter-pot insta-shove when the flush card hits the river). In any case, it also means he isn't paying attention to what you have. Try and get inside the head of someone who plays like this.
Re the ICM factor - it doesn't really apply very much here, with six players still in. Doubling your stack almost doubles your equity. So opening A4 here is fine some of the time I think, especially versus a fish and with position, simply because you're putting him in a situation where he will make loads of mistakes and sometimes big ones. The key is that you don't make big mistakes yourself, as you did here, and therefore miss out on the later levels where fish who min donk bet with bottom pair will be throwing equity around with gay abandon.
This sounds a bit like the dreaded 'waiting for better spots' but I think it probably applies here if you've got players like this in the game who can't push-fold properly and therefore suffer when the blinds go up. Not sure how to quantify it but I sometimes feel like I have more equity three- or four-handed with average stack of 10 big blinds than I do with an average stack of 20 big blinds. (Someone please tell me if I'm talking nonsense here. Having written that down I feel like I could be...)
What buy-in was this?

this is spot on. a huge part of these games is getting to 3/4 handed and then shoving/calling correctly, probs more so at this bi ($3). this is why I'm always gonna be uber nitty 6 handed @25/50
my opening range for an ace in this spot with no info is gonna be AT+, A9 if I'm feeling funky but I'd rather not

Nothing except fold pre for me
And if you find these spots alot, you need to be folding much more at this blind level

i dont think my posts are ever venomous - but I just say what I believe in, and Im not very good at sugar coating stuff. Like i said on that thread - im blunt! Venomous sounds nasty, and im certainly not that.
Id say its more a volume thing - ive been posting much less
p.s. its an ez fold pre - very little merit in rasing that hand in a sng at this blind level
