Next year I am thinking about adding some turbo MTTs on PokerStars to my daily grind in 2011.

6.00am $109 Turbo ($30k gtd) - Approx 400 runners
6.30am $55 Turbo ($12k gtd) - Approx 450 runners
7.00am $77 6-Max Turbo ($3k gtd) - Approx 150 runners
7.30am $109 Turbo ($15k gtd) - Approx 225 runners
9.00am $109 Turbo ($15k gtd) - Approx 225 runners
1.00pm $109 Turbo ($5k gtd) - Approx 150 runners

Reasons for wanting to do this:
1. I'm hoping it helps me structure my day (wake up early, play a morning session, have lunch, play an afternoon session).
2. $$$$$$
3. VPPs

Reasons for wanting staking.
1. Variance.
2. Risk

On my own dime I'd basically be spending all my SNG profits on this schedule, and I like having a reasonably steady income. Essentially I'd be asking the stakers to take on the variance and risk this proposal involves.

From what I can gather surprisingly few regs play these particular tournaments (probably due to the start times). I looked through the lobbies today and only have 2-3 people colour coded in each - and I have most of the 18-180-man regs colour coded.

Of regs that I managed to find had played 200+ games of the Turbo $109s, it looks like they are potentially beatable for a healthy ROI:

Here are my PokerStars stats, firstly filtered for turbos with more than 90 entrants, and then just for turbo games:

I figure there are two ways to go about this:

1. Have a running bankroll to play the games from, and say have a monthly payment of shares

2. Have a set amount of entries, and pay out after playing them all

Just setting up this thread to see if there would be enough interest . A decent amount of wonga would be needed for either option, and I think either way there's a reasonable amount of risk involved.

If there is enough interest, what would be people's preferred option of how to run the stake, and how much dosh would be reasonable? I also wondered what people think would be a reasonable % chop after stakeback/makeup considerations.

Just to clarify I'm not selling anything just yet.

Something to consider:
I will be multi-tabling whilst playing these games so you'd have to be cool with that if you wanted to invest.

The midday MTTS are quite soft on Stars so good game selection imo, I might be interested in taking a small % but I presume as I type this Flushy has bought the lot.

No preference as to which type of method.

One question, the times you put for the mtts, are they eastern time?

Nay, they are "Western European Time"...

I would be interested in taking a piece, depending on how the stake is set up. Basically the more long term it is the more I am interested.

It is deffo an awkward stake to set up, as you could deffo drop over 5 figures doing this without getting anywhere near the bottom of variance.

Off the top of my head probably best to have a starting roll something like 5k, over a set time period (a month/maybe even fortnightly) and then chop/top up at the end of that period.

Meh this normally works best with one backer with deep pockets, who will reload you constantly imo.

Yeah totally agree with your points. Theoretically I would be happy for this to be a year-long stake, although I realise it's hard to fully guarantee this as a lot can happen in a year, blackouts and such!

Not sure what the other bit meant but I'm playing 18-man turbo SNGs currently...

Why? These are just ppl I managed to find with a 200+ game sample. I went through Sharkscope 180 man leaderboards, the game lobbies to pick out regs I recognised and then a couple of pocketfives dudes. If you're suggesting that I have no chance of matching a superstar-MTT player's ROI then I'd suggest you were 100% correct, if these weren't turbos. I think I can play turbos as well as anybody else can. MI_Turtle has the best sample size and he does pretty solidly out of them and he is a comparable player to me.

In my experience this is a pretty good list for turbos, admittedly they might get owned playing proper mtts but in shovefests all these guys are pretty comptent imo.
