FIRST RED CARD AND DISQUALIFICATION IN NOTTS

WELL AFTER ALL THE PROBLEMS IN NOTTS, THE CARDROOM TEAM CAME UP WITH A YELLOW AND RED CARD SYSTEM TO CUT DOWN ON THE ESCALATING BAD VIBES. TODAY UNFORTUNATELY TAFF REALISED THEY WILL USE THIS WHEN PEOPLE DONT LISTEN TO THE SUPERVISOR, ON THE FINAL TABLE OF ALL PLACES. I WAS PLAYING NL TEXAS CASH AT THE TIME COULD HEAR BITS OF ANĀ ARGUMENT GOING ON. HE WAS TOLD MORE THAN ONCE TO CARRY ON WITH GAME BUT CARRIED ON WAS GIVEN YELLOW CARD.HE DID NOT STOP SO MANAGER WENT TO HIM AND SAID RIGHT OUT OF CARD ROOM FOR TEN MINS, TAFF CARRIED ON 20 MINS ,HE SAID TAFF STILL CARRIES ON. THEN SUPERVISOR SAID YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED !!. AND TAKES HIS CHIPS OFF FINAL TABLE GIVING HIM 8TH POSITION I THINK .TAFFY NOW OUT OF COMP, SAYS U CANNOT DO THAT TAKE MY CHIPS OFF TABLE DURING A COMP ALAS THE DECISION WAS FINAL WERE THE MANAGEMENT RIGHT OR WRONG ABOUT THE CHIPS OR WAS TAFF ??.HE HAD ENOUGH WARNINGS. HE WAS SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT GAMING BOARD GUIDELINES THAT HE CANT BE DISQUALIFIED. I THINK WHEN WE PLAY IN A CASINO WE PLAY BY THE HOUSE RULES WHICH WERE AND ARE DISPLAYED AND HAVE BEEN FOR A WHILE....
P.S. SORRY ABOUT CAPS LOCK KIDS BROKE MY KEYBOARD,BUYING NEW ONE TODAY WITH MY WINNINGS FROM CASH GAME

No idea of the facts, but they HAD to make an example of someone, eventually. Whether it was justified ot not, in this case, a HUGE up to Nightfly for making a stand. He has my 100% support. The discipline down there wll now improve rapidly.
I am NOT saying Taffy was right or wrong. It does not matter, in the grand scheme of things.
Something had to be done, we lobbied for it, he's done it.
Arise, Sir Nightfly.

this is a tough one. I had gone out in 9th so missed all of this, but even when I was there Rob had given Taff several warnings which had been ignored. It didn't bother me personally but I can see how much it must annoy Rob and his colleagues. Longy was still going strong at the final when I left so maybe he can shed some light...

Rob and management are 100% correct.
The gaming board would have no problem with this especially with so many pre warnings. If a complaint was made, the gaming commission may well investigate, but as they had gone through their procedure for doing this, I believe the GC would also be 100% behind the house.
The only thing I would say is I hope he never recieved any prize money for being disqualified. If he did then the casino was in fact TOO fair, as disqualification means just that and any monies should be forfeited.
Thumbs up for Notts Gala and Rob.

It's not my understanding that Taffy was banned, he was, if the Post is correct, simply Disqualfied fom the Comp.

Right then as the only blondite on the table when this situation occurred i will give my views. Taffy was being him typical self, he then made a comment towards olga(who was dealing) suggesting that she wasn't speaking English (which of course she was) it was kind of light hearted. Olga then asked Rob to give Taffy a yellow card for this, rob instead told taffy he was giving him a warning for this. Taffy then decided to tell Rob to Shut up. At this point Rob issued a yellow card.
Arguement over you would have hoped, but no Taffy continued to rant on about how he was "not at school" and "he was not a kid" (quite ironic given how he was behaving). This continued where Rob said if Taff continued he would give him a time penalty. Taffy continued and was given 10,20 and then 30 mins. Eventually he was disqualified and his chips taken from the table.
The arguement then continued around the cage about how Rob was not allowed to do that, to the point where the tournament was paused as no one could concentrate on the game. He was eventually awarded 8th.
My view that while Taffy never did anything outrageous, the cardroom has to enforce its own rules. To often at Notts Gala this has not been case therefore Rob has to be applauded for standing up to this behaviour. It spoilt the night but i think it has a set precedent for future situations. I don't think it is relevant that is was Taffy tho he probably was the odds on favourite to be the first disqualified.
