Played the Sky comp today at Luton and finished 6/172. Fk knows how. 5k chips and a 30 min clock, I managed to do half my chips in the first 3 hands, the best hand I had a showdown was J high, and all 3 times, I was behind. Anyway, decided to go for a smoke and stop being a dick, and managed to get myself back up to 15k at 100-200. Jakally gave me a great lesson on how NOT to play 72, I was impressed though with his Vinny type spew. He was down to 1325 and asked me for a double up, so I raised to 1k with the intention of doing a comedy fold to his shove, but the button had other ideas and re-shoved, so I couldn't do it ;( Then doubled up CIA with QQ v AA, it's the first time I have sigh called with QQ, I just knew his limp shove utg was AA but was only 3k from my 15k to call.
Stayed more or less on 10 bigs for 5 levels and suddenly there were only 40 left from 172, can't believe how quickly they dropped. At 1000-2000 utg made it 5k and I shoved 24k with KK, he called with A10 and I held, A few raises to nick the blinds here and there got me to 60k , but the blinds were now 3k/6k, so no real progress made. Managed to limp onto the final table with 54k, but just coud find a spot to get it in, and when I did find an ace, it was in the BB and I got a walk!
My exit hand was at 5k/10k I had 42k ad made it 25k utg, Andrew Titcombe isolated from the SB with A2 and flopped an ace

and that was that. Swapped a few %'s with people but managed to make a profit, which was handy. £5k ftw woulda been nice & handy, but it wasn't to be. Given how much of an idiot I had been at the start, I was pleased with my abilty to grind for hours again, and survive plenty of all in shoves.
On to the Vic tomorrow, with renewed confidence.
Done an exit video for Sky, with Tikay, that will be aired next Saturday, managed to mention my poker mentor, that's all I can say. Enjoy.
