Celebrated or commiserated with a swarmer on the Edgware Road with Rob Garfield at 3.10am. Does life get better than that?

Went into the heads up with a 5-1 chip deficit, so can't really complain. Was a bit sore though, as the guy who won, was all in v me at 150-300 with KJ v my AK and rivered a jack. Also, I can't ever remember him getting his chips in ahead once, he just always seemed to get there, normally runner runner too. Fair play to him though, he was the short stack for a long time, but held on and refused to die.
Pleased in some respects that I finally managed a cash at the Vic, prob only my 10th tourney there, but it's always good to get off the mark, have ran fairly terrible in comps there though to be honest.
I ended up with £2250, which was equivalent to 4th place, with 8 left we agreed a deal on chip stacks, and played for the rest, which was chopped again later. The chip leader had 97k at 4000-8000-500, and the short stack had 50k approx, so was prob a good deal for all.

On the next table to were the final was being played, there was a 1/3 cash game taking place. All was going well, until a guy stands up, I'm told it was Ramsay Arjan sp?, and another guy called Cos. No, not that one, a different one.
From what I could make out, there was about £100 in the middle on a board of JJ9105. Not entirely sure how the action went, but Ramsay had put around £450 in on the river, then Cos gets the rest of his chips in, approx £75 more to call. Ramsay turns over J9, but doesn't actually say call, so Cos then queries if his hand is dead.
Supervisor is called, and decides, because Ramsay didn't say call, his hand is in fact dead, then the shouting begins, Ramsay starts at the supervisor, saying, don't be ridiculous, I have the nuts (he had J9), I'm not gonna fold that for £75, but the supervisor isn't having any of it, so Cos asks the dealer to pass the pot over to him, then Ramsay starts shouting even more, and manages to call someone a *****, I think it might have been aimed at Cos, but not sure. Ramsay is joined by Luke Swartz, and explains to him what happened, but Luke doesn't seem to know what to say. Ramsay then shouts to Willie Tann, Willie, tell them ffs, them them what the ruling is, Willie shakes his head and walks away. Ramsay is getting more frustrated now and lol and demands the card room get Neil Channing on the phone lol, by now, the whole card room has ground to a halt, and there are around 60 people around the table, all giving their opinion.
The supervisor goes away to seek advice and comes back and rules that Ramsay can have his last bet back, but the rest of the pot goes to Cos. Cos is now annoyed, as he feels the ruling is wrong, and that, that conclusion has been arrived at, because Ramsay shouted louder.
In the end, the pot was frozen, and Geoff, the card room manager will make a decision, when he returns to work tomorrow. Would like to be there when the decision is announced

One thing that crossed my mind about the argument was, If you are Cos, what would you do? Is it a bit shitty to try and enforce a ruling to win the pot?
Apparently something similar happened recently at the vic, where a guy bet £75, someone shoved for £77 and they guy turned his hand over, his hand was ruled to be dead as he didnt put the £2 in or say call. Could you, or would you want to claim a pot like that, If you know you were behind?

Met The Camel at the vic tonight, he finalled the £500, was chip leader with 4 left, and finished 4th. It appears he done a Vinny spew, I set the trend, the others follow
He obviously brought me some luck! Didn't manage to nip him for a few quid at the cash desk as he collected his winnings though. Must try harder.
As soon as he got knocked out, the other 3 flattened the payouts, and played on for another 2 hours or so. Think seat 10 won it Keith if you're interested.

What do you do here?
11 left in the £250 comp, final table bubble, but only 8 paid. 5 on my table, 6 on the other. The blinds are 1500-3000-300, and it's a 25 minute clock. There is no tourney clock as we are playing in the back part of the vic, and the computer link isn't working, so the tourney supervisor is announcing when the blinds go up etc.
At some point, the TD has announced the blinds have gone p to 2000-4000-400, but this has been missed by the dealer on our table. So, I'm sitting there thinking, this has seemed like quite a long level. There is a bit of action on my table and a player is taking a bit of time to make a decision, so I go over to the other table to see how the other stacks are looking, and I notice that they are posting 2k/4k/400.
There is no TD around, so I go into the main part of the cardroom and it says on the clock there is 9 minutes left of the 2000-4000 level.
So... Do i tell the dealer that we have been playing the wrong blind level for 16 minutes, or do I just keep quiet?

Had a dream/nightmare saturday night that a flight I was on started to plummet from the sky
Hate things like that, especially as I'm flying later in the week, and I'm about to take my dad to the airport.
No sleep for me now, have to go to work after the airport. Sigh.
