Comps played: 9
Total buy ins: £866
Total Cashed: £760
Cash Games: £-360
Profit/Loss: -£466
Sigh, played well tonight, got max value from the big hands i had, folded at the right time and bluffed at the right time. Then i got
in v
on a
flop and was drawing dead on the turn. wiiiii, then took a gamble to try and knock out a few short stacks that didnt quite work as planned, then doubled up another short stack with AQ v KK, A on the flop K on the turn. wiiiiiiiiiii Eventually knocked out at 800-1600-100. utg limper, i shove 11k with AK, BB re-shoves with 10 10, utg limper folds. 10 on the flop wasn't ideal and i was gone.
I'm gonna win sunday comp if I go.

How do you treat poker? How good do you genuinely think you are?
Do you think you could beat 100nl online and if you had no other source of income do you think you could provide for your family by playing poker?
All genuine questions and I've never been on your table so not trying to be clever or a nob etc.

Peeeeeeeeeeeeee Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeno.
Thank you for posting in my diary.
I probably treat poker at Luton totally wrong if im honest. I play when i know i shouldn't be, If i'm in a comp that i have put myself in then I don't treat it seriously enough. Which is crazy on lots of levels. I enjoy it a lot, always have. It's a sick game right? Who couldn't enjoy it? I find I play the bigger tournies differently, DTD, GUKPT's etc. Don't know why, just do.
How good do I think I am? I don't really know, I've never really had the chance to test myself consitently. Hopefully that will happen one day. On a local level, if you asked the regs at Luton some would say i'm not bad, some would say im average. There are prob some that dont rate me at all. To be honest, it's not something I've really given much thought too, nor is it something that i really care too much about. Sure, it's nice to have people say they think you are good etc, but it doesnt count for much if I'm not winning at poker.
I made a comment to Alex a couple of months ago when i was being a complete donk at Luton. It was something like.. The only person that has knocked me out of a tourney in the last 20 is me. It was true though and wasn't meant in a big headed type way. I was doing the most stupid things, telling people what i thought their hands were and still calling. WTF?
Hopefully doing this diary will help me stop doing these stupid things. It hasn't really yet, maybe thats because i haven't posted some of the ridic things i have done, but i plan on doing that soon. I hope you come back and berate me
If I played properly (see, I always seem to come back to playing properly) then I think I could beat 100nl. Whether I could live solely on Poker I will never know until I have tried it. Done it for 4 months about 4 years ago and it went OK, but that is no type of indicatior at all. Maybe one day I will find out

[ ] You, Stu and Greektits if he's telling the snake story.
To be fair to greeky, by a weird coincidence, i heard the same snake story on the radio the next day. The radio presenter absolutely ruined it. Greeky's version, although terrible, was miles ahead.

Thank God someone else does this, I really believed it was just me.
I can only assume I do it because I know I'm not going to get to see if I'm right if i fold... and obv being a woman I have far too much curiosity (insert- nosiness) for my own good.
What's your excuse?
Enjoying the diary BTW

Yeah I've played with Vinny and he can definitely play well when he wants to. He'll want to play back vs his friends or the better people when he probably shouldn't.
Few posts ago you said you kept 3-bettig Chompy, what's the point? He's not gonna fold so you can show you your 84cc. Just wait til you actually have it and he won't fold.
(P.s. Snake story is a good story and I told it well).

I imagine a lot of us can relate to that Vinny - I know I could have written that paragraph myself. Give myself a talking to now and then, but it doesn't really make much difference. I think one of the main factors, for me anyway, in being more disciplined in bigger tournaments is it's a lot easier to stay focussed on the game rather than 'let's piss about a bit' when you're not playing with your mates that you see a few times a month. It's mindset too - whenever I'm heading up to play one of the regular games at Luton I've already written the money off and am going up there to have a laugh. When I'm playing a bigger tournament I'm going with the intention of getting a result, and usually playing against people I don't know. Relative to the fairly small number of bigger games I've played I've got a much better record for cashing in them than the £50 jobbies at the G. Suspect you have too.
