Some thank you's that I never got round to doing I think.
Firstly to everyone from blonde that came to Holly's funeral. From memory, Tikay, Chompy, DingDell, Simon Galloway, Drain Alien, Little Red Riding Hood, The Sicilian & last but no means least Greekstein. I think he got something like 3 trains and two cabs to get there lol. He was also told by me that should anyone turn up that I didn't want there then he was in charge of informing them. Thankfully his services weren't required and he was soon able to get back to policing the internets.
To the people that sent me PM's that week, won't mention them as I might forget someone. One that I will mention that really stood out, was from someone I had never met before, or since. I have heard a lot about this guy and his lifestyle so when I saw I had a PM from I was amazed by what it said. Funny how you judge someone by their forum persona! It was very touching. And he made a donation to the causes we were collecting for. Thank you DUBAI. I like to think that karma played a part in his big score a few months later on Poker Stars. Oh, that and the fact that he is the schnizzles at online MTT's
Also to all the blondes that made a donation at the funeral or through here. You know who you are.
And to Chompy who organised a card and collection at the G, thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection too.
Also, thank you to Kirsty (MissCeltic on blonde) I may have to use my mod powers to change to ExMissCeltic now
for being a great step mum to Holly for 8 years. She was only 21 when we started seeing each other and took Holly on like she would her own child. Holly loved her like a mum. Oh and they fought and argued like a mum and daughter. Was normally a great source of entertainment for me

One of the causes we collected money for at Holly's funeral was the ward that Holly was treated on. We still had a bit of money left as we agreed that the hospital will let us know as and when they need stuff. They said this was better rather than just spending it all in one go. Which was fine.
So I rang them before christmas as I hadn't heard from them. They said they didn't like to ring. Sigh.
Anyways, I got a list off them and said I would sort and bring up.
I was a miserable bastard at Christmas. I don't mind admitting. I told my family and friends that I wouldn't be doing cards & presents so don't bother getting me anything. Was a bit harsh on my neice and nephew but I just felt so strong about it. Besides, they get plenty anyway. I'm sure they understand.
So with the money that was left from the collection, a bit of money from me that I would have wasted on christmas presents, some money from Kirsty & my mum and dad I set off to Tesco at Brookfield Farm. Or hell on earth as i see it.
Anyway, we managed to get 4 portable DVD players, and 6 games, 2 for the PS2, two for the wii and two for the xbox360.
And they will be delivered to the hospital on Saturday by me and Kirsty. Sent with lots of love and thanks from Holly.
We even have some money left for when they next forget to phone me

Thank you all for posting on the the thread, tonight and in the last few weeks. Really appreciate it. And thanks to Tom for the PM, and Chompy, who is too proud to post that my diary is better than his. If only I was allowed to copy PM's on here....
Now, onto Laxie.

A parent should never have to see the funeral of their child, it just shouldn't work like that.
Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to de-rail and ignore until you're ready. Regarding the whole religion thing. Did you already have it in your head it was a load of rubbish or was Holly's illness and suffering the reason for your decision? I'm of the same thinking as yerself and have my reasons (was also brought up Catholic) just curious as to what sealed the deal for you.
Thanks for the question Laxie, I'm glad you decided to post it on here rather than asking me on MSN
Religion for me was alwas a bit like fish, in that, the more I was force fed it when I was younger, the more I went off it. Funnily enough, I don't like either now.
I was christened a catholic, made my Holy Communion and was confirmed, and also went to catholic schools throughout my education.
I married a girl who was brought up a catholic too and there was a strong urge for her to get married in a catholic church, so we did. To be honest, I wasn't fussed either way at the time. I then stopped going to church, because I was lazy and was never really convinced by it all. Holly then went to a catholic junior school, but that wasn't through choice. The first choice was CoE i think, but she was refused entry on grounds of where she lived etc. So, because she went to a catholic school, we thought it was only fair that she got to do all the things her friends were doing as to not single her out. I think secretly her mum was still a believer and so were her family, and mine to be fair so it probably fitted in ok.
What happened to Holly made me very angry. Not because I thought God or Jesus or whoever had made it happen but because I started to think, well if there is a god or Jesus or whoever controlling things then why the fuck has he picked Holly?
So, in a way, the answer is I was already a bit of a non-believer, but what happened to Holly confirms in my mind that it is a load of old fanny.
I may be wrong. Just my view.
My mum & dad are still strong believers and we have had words about it. I'm never gonna try and convert them, If that's the right word, nor would I want to. But I have made my feelings clear to them about the person they pray to.
