Yes but the rules stated that it was gonna be decided by a draw.
You were second out if it's any consolation?

1. Who will let me put their name up as "winner" and keep schtum if I send them $1 on Stars?
2. "Draw" them as the winner.
I can confirm i did not recieve $1 on Stars.

So 19 days into the diary and I have set one goal for 2011 so far
And to be honest, I haven't done much, if at all about finding a new job. I'm at home today, at work they needed someone to come in and do some stuff for one of my colleagues, not sure what. So as there is not enough money in the budget for both of us to be in I was kindly given the day off. Unpaid. Not the first time it has happened, and I'm sure it wont be the last.
Not the end of the world but it just re-inforces the fact that I need to find something new, and start looking NOW!

I have given careful consideration to what I want to achieve in 2011. Might not seem a lot to some but for me it will take some doing. All are probably achievable with a bit of hard work and a bit of luck. I really want to get there with them but If i don't then it won't be for want of trying.

So, along with finding a new job, staying where I am living would be nice. The two are undoubtedly linked, hence a need to start getting my arse in gear.
I also have some debt I need to clear. Nothing massive or anything, I have some loans that will always be there. I don't have credit cards, nor do I want them but I really need to start clearing some if not all of my debt. It's been playing on my mind for a while and I don't like it.
Another goal is to have a holiday at some point this year. I'm going to Glasgow in february but I mean a proper holiday, with sun and all that. It's been two and a half years I think since i last went away, maybe a bit less, so hopefully I will get one this year. I also would like to go to Vegas again soon, so maybe a holiday to Vegas will kill two birds etc.

On the poker front I have never really had any targets / goals. Now that I'm keeping proper stats then I would like to be able to show a profit at the end of the year. Who doesn't? I'm also gonna set a target of 2 GUKPT main events to play in and 5 £300-500 comps. I was almost certainly going to play the monte carlo last year until I was an idiot and had to miss out. So this year if it's on then I want to play it. I mean, if Monda can get 3rd....

No poker til thursday, gonna watch the leeds v arsenal game tonight. Come on Leeds.
Tomorrow is the G Casino Royale at the Luton G in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Charity. A tag team tourney, a player gets drawn with a dealer and they can discuss their hand and swap places at anytime etc. Should be fun.
There is also going to be a charity shield sit n go. 5 dealers v 5 players. Hoping to be involved in that too.
I have offered to do the commentary on the heads up match between legendary blonde poster China Mug & Cardroom Manager Carmel. And also commentary on the final table. I'm looking forward to doing both, especially the final table as I doubt very much I will be there as a player.

As an idea Vin, how about using your days off semi constructively by setting some targets for online pokerz, then sitting down and doing it like a job, and that way you'd (presumably) be gaining some dimez too, plus testing the theory of whether u could do it full-time.
You might end up making more on your days off than when you're working!!
Just a thought....

Don't they have to be attainable targets?

Not the worst idea drainyfish except I don't plan to have many days off. Will be having a word if it happens again, then again that may see me having many days off
I have used my day constructively to be fair. Got up at 11ish, smoked some fags, had some tea, made cheese on toast, chatted to chompy on fb, chatted to horneris, pelham boy, greeky, birdforum and girgy on MSN.
I'm like an online socialite today. I'm going to Nando's tonight, which is nice as I haven't been for ages.

Right, I'm off out shopping. I hate shopping normally, but I like this kind of shopping. (More about the shopping later)
Then I am being taken for a curry, Nando's was supposed to be on but it doesnt work logistically. So curry it is. Exciting times eh?
