Been a strange month since I came back from Malta. Only played poker 4 times, 3 of which I went for reasons that weren't just for poker, so, obv never troubled the money spots.

One friday I went with Pretty boy Martin, and we were both out anti-railing someone we know, and he challenged me to HU for a tenner, which, in a way is HU4ROLLZ for both of us. I obv crushed him, and gave him a chance to win it back, was gonna offer him odds, but thought that would be too cruel. To be fair, he got unlucky, kept getting it in behind, and bluffing with nothing, and getting called by 5th pair, which is moer or less the nuts v lLex. He gave it a good go though. He won his money back when I backed chip leader Eso Kral against Luton reg Dave Robinson in a last longer, and Eso duly spewed. WD mate.

Life is really good atm on a personal level. I'm happy, and well looked after. Couldn't ask for more. Well, maybe I could, but that would just be being greedy.

Last wednesday I went to Luton to meet Claypole, I hadn't seen him in a while, so I decided to go along to Wankers Wednesday. He offered to put me in, but I really wasn't feeling it, so declined. Not too surprising then when I got knocked out in level 5. Decided to rail him for an hour, which then turned into 4 hours and a fry up!

Done me a massive favour in a way, firstly, for those who don't know, he has won a shit load over the last few months, and I couldn't help admire his ability to still be able to grind a £50 donkament as if it was the most important comp he had ever played. This is something I'm very guilty of not doing, and still found myself donking them in hoping to get a big stack or piss off down the M1. So with my new poker hero showing me how it's done, I thought I would give it a go in the next comp I played. I wasn't really planning on playing for a while, but I knew that I was gonna use his performance as inspiration.

At the end of the night when he cashed in 4th, he offered to put me in the £75 deepstack at Luton the next night, I really couldn't refuse, and he bought me in there and then, with the simple instruction of focus, and win the lot... Simple.

Day 1a I had a dream starting table. All players I knew, bar 1, and he was a complete maniac, who was determined to get himself knock out as quickly as possible.

Had a young guy to my left, who was v aggro, even getting Edna of AA with 72! Never thought I would see that in my life time. So when I 4bet a AAQQ8 board with 69, making him fold Qx, and showed him, I knew it was only a matter of time before the rest of his chips followed... and they did.

Finished the day with 118,700 which was 2nd in chips, and returned with 32 left and 11 paid.

Had a bit of a mini blow up in the 2nd level back, and found myself down to 70k at 1000-2000. But my new mentor wouldn't be happy if I told him I had donked them in, so re-focused, and got it back up to 150k. Grinded for a few levels around the bubble etc, and managed to make the final as the shortstack with 14 bigs. Managed to win a couple of nice pots and got myself up to 300k, but the blinds were now 8000-16000 and we were 4 handed. We done a staggered deal, in which I got £1200, and there was still £1200 to play for. CHemical Ali went in fourth, which left me, Dave Morton & Pizzled, Dave refused a re-chop, which was fair enough as he had 800k to my 35k0, to pizzled's 1 million, and I set about getting back into.

Played a couple of big pots against pizzled, where I just got there and with one million chips now, i decided three handed to just bet 1 million pre with AQ, Dave called with A 10 and I held. Me and pizzled done the re-chop bar £1 and we played heads up for the glory/bragging rights.

Pizzled tried his best, he really did. I managed to shove the river with 9 high, and made him do a fold. wp. He really wasn't any match for me. I felt so sorry for him, that I even folded out of turn heads up so that I would get a 2 hand penalty, I needed a smoke, so just disappeared for 5 mins, the dealer just kept dealing and folding my hand while I was gone Smiley To be fair, the dealer said he played quite well I was out having a smoke Smiley

Evetually Pizzled realised it was never gonna happen and got it in bad and I was crowned the worth winner!

Claypole obv thinks I'm some sort of sick degen and drove to see me on monday to collect his % lol. Don't blame him to be honest. I even bought him lunch. YES, BOUGHT HIM LUNCH!

Cheers Shaun for the stake, much appreciated.

Haha I thought it might be cigarettes for Alex, didn't even know the bar was open.... I told the guy when I checked out that I never even went in the bar so how can I have charges on the room and he snap wiped it off.

Bit amateur though Vinny, you should have lumped a load of stuff on there and meant I had an argument on checking out Cheesy

SIgh. Was hoping two bottles of beer was enough to get you arguing with reception.

Was amazed really at how easy it was to stroll up to the bar, tell them i was Mark Herron from room 104, and would like to charge it to 'my' room. The girl behind the ramp was obv a bit dazzled by pretty boy Martin's pretty face.
