After my trip to the bar, we went up to Mark's room, as he was doing his hair or something. We then phoned ahead to a chinese restaurant to let them know we were coming. They told us we had to be quick, as last orders were in 20 mins. No prob, we made it in time and I tucked into 3 plates of chinese from the buffett, whilst the sophisticated duo went for some raw food that had to be cooked. Amateur mistake from them, as they didn't even tuck into the already cooked food whilst waiting.
Marky then paid for dinner, he said he only paid so he can join the elite club of people that have bought me dinner this year. He is a lucky guy.
Afterwards we went to Stanleys to anti-rail Eso, he obv got a bit excited and started showing off, and was soon out
Dropped Marky off to his hotel, and even asked him if they had a bar, just a little question to make him think that we didn't know there was a bar, so he could eliminate us from his enquiries. Sigh at him just getting it wiped off, no questions asked. Probably a wanted poster of me & Alex doing the rounds of the bedfordshire police stations / Other Hilton hotels. WP us.

Team Claypole strikes again!
A week after winning the deepstack at Luton, I played the Anniversary comp at Stanleys. Got up to 96k at 400-800, then seemed to go backwards for 2 levels. Tiredness set in and I went down to 35k. Managed to get it up to 73k in the last level.
got a good seat draw in day 2 and managed to chip up quite quickly to 100k+, which helped massively. A few yoyo moments got me up to 310k at the final, and the chip lead. The blinds were about to go to 8000-16000, and a lot of the stacks were very equal, so I suggested we chop some money (£1200 - to ensure we all get between 3rd and 4th place money) and everyone agreed. Was pleased with this, as I was almost out on day1 by being a dick, and the 7 left were all people I really like, and a few of us could do with the money, and there was still a fair amount to play for.
Got 3 handed with Rob Garfield & Gav, was hoping I could get heads up again with Gav, but he let the side down, and crashed out in 3rd. Got my last 300k in with 85 heads up, but couldn't there. We had already chopped the rest of the money by then, so I wasn't really too bothered about losing to Rob.
Another good weekend then, in fact, it was a good week. This was my 4th final in four comps. Not against the biggest fields, but still pleasing to be getting there.

To save ya hitting people up for meals.

Granted, you'll probably need everyone to give you their coupon too. You'd starve on just one.

To be fair tho, I doubt I would ever want to get food that I have to cook.

Bink
Bink Indeed!
Played the £100er at Luton on friday. Was looking forward to it, as it was now £5k gtd, and was unlikely to get 50 runners. Sure enough, only 43 turned up, so £1700 ftw, and only 42 others to get through. Seemed possible.
On the way up, I had to make a few phone call., Now, I always use my phone, I know the rules, but like a lot of people, I choose not to adhere to them always. So, when I get pulled by an unmarked police car on the M1, I get what I deserve, 3 points and a £60 fine. Sigh. No complaints from tho, even the policeman was surprised at my lack of protest. I get the feeling he thought I might have just been keeping quiet, as I may have had something to hide.
I carried onto the G, and put it out my mind.
Quickly built up a stack, then had 3 hands in quite a short period that I couldn't avoid. AQ v 55 on a AA5 flop, 20k pot @ 100-200 FML, KK v AA AIPF for a 26k pot at 100-200, and AK v KQ at 200-400 for a 30k pot. Despite the set backs, I grinded a couple of levels, and got a double up with AJ v A9. Then the very next hand, I raised AJ, and got called by the BB, who was on tilt from having to fold AA when I floated him on a KKx flop.
The flop was an ok(ish) JJA, we both checked the flop, and I called his bet on the 9 turn. He led for a half pot bet on the turn, and I jammed. He sigh called with J8, and was a bit upset at how unlucky he had got.
Made the final with 35 bigs. Very first hand, UTG ships 55k at 1000-2000 and my queens hold v AJ. Then a few hands later, I was gifted 60k from a guy who called my 3 bet, then jammed the 10 high flop with 99. Again my QQ held.
That was sort of where the good hands stopped, and I found myself with too many chips to pass to the shorties shoves. K2>>44, K5>>A10>>QQ to knock two out in one hand, then 74>>AJ. Apart from that, I used the stack well, while Nirvana sat back in admiration of my mad poker skillz, and laddered
Got heads up with Nirvana, he begged for a chop, but I wasn't having it. I let him have a few chips back, then we got it with 1010vAQ, and I held. A nice result, and a nice confidence boost. Again.

Played the Equal Chance hundo f/o on Sunday, finished 7th, lost KQ<<33, only 2k ftw, and if i had won the flip, I woulda been in a great position to push for 1st. Still, can't win them all. Playing the 50f in Luton tonight, then I'm off to Coventry for the GUKPT Main Event. So excited.
Please let me do well.
