It's good to be a kid sometimes.
Wasn't the best journey home on the tube though.

LOL, just watching the last few mins of Fulham v Tottenham.
Walker handled the ball about 4 times in 5 seconds, and not even a hint of a penalty being given,
Don't know how Fulham haven't managed to score in the last 2 mins.

Spurs should've had a penalty just before that at the other end when Parker got bundled over and it was a stone wall penalty.
No idea how Spurs won though.

I had an offer this week to play live cash at the Vic. The offer also includes £100 comps.
The plan is to start on 1/1 and gradually work my way up, Played my first session on Wednesday. Sat with £150, got it up to £310, then finished the evening on £160.
Few questions:
Are these games hugely profitable longish term?
Are they very swingy generally?
Best strategy? See flop multi way or try and get pots heads up pre?
Am I better just going straight into the 1/2 and not sitting as deep?

My former friends The Sicilian & Pizzled have gone to Vegas this week, without me. I thought we were unbreakable, a great friendship cemented in the summer, with many laughs in the Vegas heat.
This week, they abandonded me, fickle imo.
Mixed feelings about not going, I actually almost booked a flight late on Monday night, but then decided against it. Fields are smaller than the summer, and a lot of people seem disappointed with the numbers. I'm not though, It means that the sicilian, who is yet to earn an american flag, can't fail to get one on this trip. Seems a shame though, it's a lose/lose situation, as they count for less in November, than say July.
Good luck to both of them.

rom ur diary....
yes games r profitable longterm as long as the reg lineup isnt tough
like by the sounds of the nottingham games with sean, alex, mitch and keith playing regularly 1/2, 2/5 and sometimes stato and JK they sound like tough lineups
games r usually swingy coz bad plays gamble it up so much. being mega loose pre and getting it in pretty light with draws and stuff
best strategy also depends on the lineup
i think if u think ur the best player or 1 of the best on the table u should be looking to iso bad players in position
then win the pot
however
in xxxxxxxx trying to do this is tough
and id imagine its similar most places in UK
coz people never fold
like limp limp raise, people behind are calling pretty wide
so if u think u have an edge i think its good to start out trying to iso in position and take down the pot
but if u find urself going multiway oop a lot and cant get players behind u to fold
then its better just to overlimp and play ur hand postflop multiway for cheap
coz ur obv just burning money trying and failing to iso a lot
as for sitting less deep in 1/2 instead, again depends on the lineup and depends on u
if u think u play better deeper stacked stay in 1/1
if u like ur shorter stacked games where u can get it in cheap with draws etc then sit in 1/2
Thoughts on this MSN convo re: cash games.

I was speaking to a man today who's job it is (Amongst other things) to act as ghost-writer for several of Derby's notables. It falls to him to pen "Personal" letters of invitation, acceptance, gratitude etc.
He told me that me that it was a regular occurrence for him to be acting on behalf of two people and find that he is sending letters which the recipient then passes on to him. He writes back and receives his own reply, thereby conducting both sides of the same conversation.

Derby has notables?
