Been absolutely dying with man flu for the last two weeks.
Cough cough fkin cough, which has meant lots of time with no sleep, coughing so much it makes me sick, which has led me to losing half a stone. Easy game.
Still no been to the gym, getting ridic, but i'm not surprised. Am planning on going next week, if i'm feeling better.
Not played many cash sessions in that time, just been playing comps, I find them a bit more straight forward when i'm not well. Played 4 comps this week, won 2 and chopped one. ran good too, which helps.
Played well too tho i suppose, really aggro, and people don't like it. Def gonna keep doing it. Gtd 1st level exit later....

Was saddened to hear about the death of my one of my childhood sporting heroes at the weekend. Sad how he lived like a recluse for the last 17 years of his life.
What an athlete.
RIP Jocky.

Haha brilliant!!
Good luck mate do a win as I've got a couple quality restaurants lined up in Bournemouth
Lets agree a date Vinny - weekend? Maybe the one after Irish Open and UKIPT? Like the 21st April
This sounds like a good date. OK with you Marky?
Yeah I'm easy, think the Gala is just cash games on Sat nights and Friday is the £501r tourney. I'll ring them tonight when the card room is open to find out
Got your text Marky, and spoke to Shaun, looks like we are coming down on the friday. He is gonna confirm tomorrow. If he blows us out i'll prob still come anyway, will see if Martins is up for it.

Obviously, after tales of crushing comps last week, i spannered two entries in yesterday's comp, as predicted. A mis-bluff and top and bottom v mid set later i was re-entering. Second entry didn't go any better and I was out and playing DC. Really enjoy it, but it's too big for me, and I'm really still learning the games. Was doing ok, then lost two hands in a row, one v Tikay & then v Chandra and skulked off to the holdem game. Managed to grind a £211 profit in that, wasn't a great game but was nice to book a win in my first session for a while.
Thinking about the Genting comp later in the week, will see how Tuesday & wed go first I think.

Aye, you're prob right, but I kinda enjoy them, well, some of them. I didn't enjoy the one I tried to have last night that made my chest pump so much I thought I was gonna have to rush and find a kebab in case it was my last chance to have one..
The doc will sort me out innit. gl when he/she tells me to quit smoking/diet/exercise/take blood pressure/cholesteral etc.

Walsall was good, not as good as I hoped, but I really enjoy festivals.
Travelled up on the thursday with 77dave, who was soon to be re-named 77dump, because of his sneaky tactic of pretending to admire the lights in the bathroom, then sneakily shut the door and proceeded to spend the next 20 minutes blocking the toilet. Meanwhile I was bursting for a pee, and had to wait another 15 mins before it was semi safe to go in there.
Got to the casino and regged the 6 max, then joined Julian & Jeff in the restaurant, no food for me tho, I had a health consious Maccy D's on the way, and wasn't really hungry. This was due to my man-flu. Sigh.
Joined by Tikay, Tim Blake & his missus, and scotty77 for a while before we all headed off to play, imo, the best comp of the festival. Every comp should be 6max imo.
Had a quiet first couple of levels, not really doing much, then got moved to the right of Micky Wernick, didn't play a hand for 2 or 3 orbits, then decided that it was time to start getting busy. The table was quite passive, and my 'tight' image was gonna see me ok. I got lucky in one pot that forced me to show my hand, but then hit a bit of a card rush, just at the right time, which enabled to build my stack without showdown. It earned me the nickname Vinny any two. Sigh.
The field soon thinned to 3 tables, then we had a comedy moment, where first I knocked a player out, leaving us four handed, then 77dump knocked two out in one hand. While they were trying to balance the tables, the dealer was trying to get me and 77dump to play on, heads up, with no antes. WTF?
Eventually we broke to two tables and both me and Jim had decent stacks.
We got down to 7 handed and Jim got
all in pre for a 250k pot v
. The flop came
and Jim somehow managed to not fade the one outer. So sick. It left him short, and he was unable to recover.
Really fancied my chances in the final, but ran 99 into QQ and that was that, out in 6th place. Bit of a sigh moment.
Headed back to the hotel for a few quiet drinks. Before we knew it, it was time for breakfast, and we decided to head over to Starbucks for coffee. Rang Tikay, told him we were downstairs, having starbucks. He replied, I have no trousers on. Hmmm, not what you want to hear when you ring an old man in his hotel room.
Still, he done well, he remembered to put them on and came down and joined us. Was very chatty for first thing in the morning. We stayed for a while, and he had to go for a meeting, and I had to go for a sleep.
I had to be up in time to meet bobalike for lunch. He was paying, and I was gonna miss this...

Hmmm, Missed bobalike lunch date as woke up, or was rudely woken up by 77dump shouting at me. Sigh, reminded me of my mum trying to get me up for school.
Fked off to the casino, feeling rough from the flu, coughing and feeling sick. Two smokes later and i was somehow there, and put on the table with CambridgeAlex, Nick Crisp & Danny Toffell, I didn't recognise the others.
First hand I get QQ, rise, get three callers, cbet the KK4 flop, and collect the pot.
Then i 3b 75dd, continue a two diamond flop, and brick turn, Nick folds.
That was it for pretty much the first level, I was coughing a lot by now, and felt I should go get some fresh air, to see if that helps. Obv, I have a fag, as I'm out there, and this seems to trigger some sickness. Nice.
Went back in, drank loads of water, which seemed to help, then won a nice pot off Alex to put me on 30k at the break, just in time for my Lamb Jalfrezi breakfast arriving.

Ok great, said he wanted to come when I mentioned it to him the other week so prob worth giving him another reminder.
I'm playing that Genting comp this week too, I've juggled work so I do Weds night and Thursday day. Finishing 4am and working 10am isn't ideal but it means I'll get a decent kip before playing Friday. Alex is playing 1b on Thursday and hopefully we'll all be back Saturday with a stack (most likely both have knocked it in before the antes though
)
Good luck at the docs anyway or rather I should be wishing them luck..... I'm staying in London until Sunday night anyway regardless of how the comp goes so hopefully see you at some point over the weekend.

Drifted along for the next few levels really, not doing much, just watching Alex making thin value bets, getting called in two spots, and collecting pots.
Got to the next break and had to have a KFC for spirits. Wasn't the greatest, but it done the job. Arrived back at the casino to be greeted at the front door by a guy I didn't recognise, but he recognised me....
He was on the phone, and said 'Celtic' and put his arm around me, he was a cross between a car saleman, double glazing salesman & a market stall holder. Not what I was expecting him to be at all. It was Mantis01. We had arranged to meet, he is one of the few blondes that I have yet to have met, he said he was gonna buy me dinner, but my belly got the better of me, and wasn't sure what time he was gonna be arriving. Gutted. We still found time for a chat, and i introduced him to 77dump, think they have had a few convo's on the Liverpool thread in the past
Tikay sort of took our picture, bit weird tho, makes him look really tall, and me really short. That can't be right...
Anyway, I went back to the comp, and started to build a bit more of a stack, then got involved in a big pot v Alex, I had AKhh v JQhh on a K92hh board. Was a bit unlucky for both of us really, the fact that my hand was so huge, and the fact that he had just lost a big hand with QQ v AA the previous hand. I was pleased to see the back of him, in the nicest way possible. Upto 50kish and enjoying it a lot, I then decided to make a play against the one guy at the table I thought could be bluffed, given what I had seen. He obv wasn't having any of it, and it's a hand I will put up in PHA in the future. I grinded for the rest of the day, and returned with 20 bigs for day2.
Never really got going, was really restricted to shoving over open's, but even they were restricted. Eventually moved with my 11 bigs and found A5ss and ran into AJ
Ended up going out in about 50th, which is obviously pants.
