5/7 of us have made it through to day 2, including me yay!

Got 31,400 going back to 6k/12k, 30 odd made it through out of 140 entries, pretty sick that we've still got so many in. Keys and Mitch busted late on but we've got Sam Mac (group chip leader - shock) with 160k, PJ with 65k, Thigh with 60k and Keith with 11k Average is like 55.

Got a break tomorrow whilst day 1b plays out, going out tonight obv

Ran bad for 9/10 levels today but like god in one so that's all it took to get a stack. Would imagine we'll be reasonably near the money so getting into flag territory soon!

please tell me that should read 600/1200?

Keys busted peeling a 6b ip with AKo really deep, the kid has K8dd and flopped a flush and is now monster chipleader overnight whilst keys is out was a sick hand, keys had too.

Yeh I've decided to be a part-time bookie now lol. My first venture did not go well, but enjoyed it and the damage was only £200. Ran a book on the WSOPE with 24 left. Obv some massive fishcake punters went for Hellmuth (JK ) and scooped at 15-1 when he was just over average.

Gonna do one for pretty much any event that blondes are in / prestigious worldwide event. Love the sweat as you know, and hopefully will make a few quid and not do my brains in! If I do knock it in at least, it all goes back into the blonde community so it's win/win kinda!

if they are going crazy pre then let them hang themselves Alex. Trap em.

Adjust and try and get value on later streets. By the way this is standard strategy against any of you lot. You can only get 4 or 5 bet difficult spots and they are nearly all folds surely?

2pm: Goulder takes a hit
Alex Goulder is down to 9,000 after losing a pot early on here in Riga.

There was an open, a three-bet, the cut-off four-bet and then Goulder cold five-bet to 3,000 on the button. Only the cut-off made the call and the two of them took a T♥T♣9♦ flop. It was checked to Goulder who bet 3,000, call from the cut-off.

The J♠ hit the turn, both players checked it through and the 8♣ completed the board. The cut-off decided to lead for 3,000, Goulder mulled it over said something that sounded like: "Have you got queens," to his opponent, before mucking his hand. He's down to around 9,000 now and obviously ruing his decision as he tweeted (@cambridgealex): "What possessed me to cold 5b A6o in level 1 of a soft Latvian 1k? What is wrong with me?! Grinding half starting stack now."

Glad you've owned up to it... unlucky on it not working.

However, let me clarify - your comment above, I assume thought process is something like this:

1. I'm Alex 'cambridgeinnitwhatchalooking@' Goulder
2. I have seen 3 raises in front of me, I expect the cold 4th bet to be JJ-KK
3. He has a top 5 hand in all of poker, and we are in Latvia = he probably isn't very optimal..
4. I has an Ace, so I'm going to try and make him...
5. Fold a top 5 hand


Am I missing something?  It doesn't seem like an optimal line, nor one that is likely to work very often....

Apologies if my comments offended anyone, it was trying to be 'ironically offensive' since many of us have started being much more careful how we talk about our opponents now.

Poker is very tough when the same play can be genius if they fold and idiotic when they don't.

Is is similar to the theory that

"blockers assist us in range assessment... however there are still certain 'sets' of actions that will only ever happen with a minimum hand strength"

All this 'blockers innit' just means its less likely that this person will have one of the premiums we block as often as if we didn't have it, however if they decide to 3bt/ bet/ bet/ shove... their range IS going to be strong enough to be the hands we block a decent %.  Since most 'normal' people don't just take off for no reason.
