No point punishing yourself now that it's done. It won't help one bit.

Also having to play bowl comps or small stakes is just insane. You're effectively punishing yourself by going to work for less money. That's ridiculous.

If I were you I'd make it a proper punishment but it only kicks in if you do it again. You need a deterrent to stop you doing it again not a slap on the wrist for something that happened in the past.

Gotta thank you for this Matt. Was gonna take the night off, or just play small, defo wasn't gonna play Hiroller, but flicked it in because of what you said and came 4th for 2.3k so thank you very much Smiley

If you did under $1k it's hardly that big of a deal! You're EV was prolly only slightly negative so it's basically exactly the same as playing blackjack and as you've already said there is nothong wrong with wanting a punt on BJ!

Obv pretty needless but happens to the best of us!

you what?

Just because I'm less active when away... doesn't mean any besmirching my name is acceptable!

My name gets taken a little too lightly imo.

Also - absolutely love the game, when I'm winning, losing and breaking even - I absolutely infatically love the 'game' of poker, and at the moment specifically the variation of Texas Hold'em No Limit

If you wake up this morning and have already read Sean's blog reporting tonights cash game, you may be feeling a little glum. His words sometimes drain the soul out of me too. Somebody today told him he was always looking so cheerful. He didn't know what to say either.

So to add some cheer to your morning, I have happy stories, happy hands, happy sets, flushes and straights. Business as usual, I guess.

I think it's good gamble as much as possible in every area of life you can, that way it's very hard to run bad in all of them all at once. That's one skewered way of looking at it anyway. So when staking is going bad, maybe MTTs are going well. Or when MTTs are going shit, maybe cash is going well. Of course sometimes they all go shit, but the more you GAMBLE, the more likely it is than you will run good in at least one of them.

So did some good old running good in an organised £1/2 game (sigh that it's come to that on a Friday night)- got it in bad and won, got it good and held, won a couple of flips, a big bluff worked (was particularly pleased with this), made a couple of big, correct, folds and just generally played well, ran better, and won a lot in a small game. Yay.

MTTs need to improve and my stable is in all-time high makeup - sigh. But like I said, running good in cash games is helping the downswing a bit, and we might be off somewhere chilly to visit a new friend again soon Tongue So things are looking good.
