Surprised to hear a fee would change hands for something like this. Is this normal?
I'm selling the makeup to them. So the horse starts the new deal in the same makeup as he was in before. The new backer would pay the old backer some % of the makeup, never usually more than 50%, I believe it fairly standard protocol. Had you agreed to this when you started with PJ? Doesn't seem to be much in it for him really. He could've just waited for you to go busto then his MU gets wiped and he's a free agent. Obviously different because you're all friends but you seem to have got the best of this, K&K second best and the poor old horse is no better or worse off at all. I think you're wrong on all 3 counts Matt. K&K obv rate him highly enough to buy his mu at whatever %, PJ gets to carry on as normal without interruption and I presume Alex isn't that close to busto he would have let him walk anyway. |

Alex defo has the worst of it imo. Lets say PJ in £10k make up and Alex gets £4k for it, PJ continues exactly the same as he was before (better actually as now he can play higher stuff) K&K have a Horse in £10k make up and they get a nice free £6k when he gets out, Alex is technically £6k out of pocket (or if you consider MU at 50% value which is the "stnd" then he's £1k out of pocket) This is pretty stnd though, and just one of those things, I imagine Alex's ideal scenario is to keep PJ and have him grind lower until he is doing slightly better but he's been fair to everyone. (numbers all made up off the top of my head ofc) |
