I joined the western on the day, didn't have to wait etc. think it was charity thing organised by blonde?

Been there twice since I think, not a fan.

The regs probs had a whip round and slipped the manager a hundo to let you in.

Did they bring out all the hookey clothes out on rails at the break?

There is value sometimes that is too good to be to true. I get the feeling this could be an interesting chapter in your diary.

Cheers. They were "expecting" more tonight. Heard lots of bad things which has put a lot of people off playing

Yeh, it's not the best. But the overlay was gonna be so huge, kinda hard to turn down. What you heard?

There is a thread in NVG on 2 plus 2.  It was at the top of page 2 when I just looked.

I successfully managed to minimise any concerns I held over the likelihood of the GTE standing by failing to make day 2. Shrewd moves.

Al - we obviously discussed overlay/club etc. at reasonable length so you know my thoughts but one thing I would recommend if you have made day two is to take a catalogue of screen shots where GTE is referenced, stated as unconditional etc.

Edit: you busted last hand of day. Nh.

Would be very surprised if The Western honour a £55K overlay. Hope they prove me wrong though.

Yes confirmed bust last hand of day. May have lost my mind. Still haven't worked it out. Been too exhausted. Slept in service station on M1 for 3 hours.

So the situation was, I have 90k at 2k 4k, about half average. Day two is on Saturday. Making day two means missing the DTD 300. Also means getting a hotel for 2 nights (reasonable expense £120-£200), hanging out in london today on my own / in miserable casinos.

Guy who's been openly abusing the last 5/6 hands of the day bubble opens to 8k from MP. Previous hand he opened and got to showdown with A7o.

I had XX in the small blind. If I fold I'll probably cash. Probably 90% of day twoers will cash. Equity of my stack probs about 1k. More if you consider the overlay and any possible edge over the field I might have...

Given all of the above, how wide are we shoving?

In prague airport and knackered, so this could be well off but I think I go 88+, AQo+

Your edge with average stack going into day 2 has to be where we want to be.... We don't mind a race here I think

should be a fold most of the time and you probably know the optimal shipping range, but given the dilemma and desire to get them in. I'd ship all pairs, all aces,  all broadway (+9s),  SCs 45+, suited 1 gappers 46+, 78o+, 8To+.

I'd also ship J8 and T3 (lucky hands)

Makes a lot of sense. Also, wtf are you doing there to go mental last hand of the night? Obv a good spot but seems pretty meh to blow like £1k equity to reg a £336 tomorrow, even if your roi is like 150.

Firstly it's not "blowing" £1k equity. Say I had 72o and got called everytime I shoved, I'd still have like 20% equity. Now obviously we're not shoving 72o and obviously he's not calling everytime. It's pretty hard for us to make a jam that is -EV by more than a few hundred.

All I'm saying is I believed that the external factors I mentioned (hotels, food, wasted day + opportunity cost of not playing deepstack) would widen my shoving range quite significantly from the "standard" in this spot.

Say for example the standard range in this spot was like somebody mentioned 88+ and AQo (seemed very tight), then these factors would probably widen that range quite a lot - to say 22+, A8+, KJ+.

I might do some maths on it and see what happens since I have some time to kill before my house wakes up...

fold and dont turn up to day 2?

are we sure we're getting paid if we do this? (re: 2p2 thread on similar subject...)

certainly '% that we get paid' should be a part of the calculation here. e.g. if at DTD etc then it's like a million (or much more...) we don't get paid, so no problems, but if it's even like 5% we don't get paid it affects equity significantly...
