I thought Ed only owned tweed? dressed remarkably normal In the vid. #slummingit

Mate tweed is normal.

Clothes made with urine ftw

What the hell is 'mate tweed' ?

Hoisted by a pedantic punctuational petard! I've always been a bit twitchy on commas since I learnt some of them have an affiliation to the other place.

Fill stop & no commas imo.

If you put mate and a full stop, it reads to me like it's a verb in the imperative. That is a hilarious bit of gentleman-ribbing but not the intended meaning, I would postulate.

I would think you'd find 'Mate! Tweed is normal' more amenable.

Personally, I'd go with the comma, unless Ed really wanted to stress his ejaculation.

100% comma.

I think ! leads more to being an imperative than a fullstop tbh. Stop! Watch out! Mate! The ! implies an order

The ! there would imply calling out his name as a warning or a telling off:

"Simon! Are you on that blooming laptop, playing online poker again?!"

"No, mother"

Quite right. They invent punctuation because they are too stupid to understand our beautiful language.

Use a verb imperative.

I wonder if there is a social website for linguists somewhere currently debating the use of check raising on the turn?

If you build it, they will come.

Possibly in a onesie.

Come, in a tweed onesie.

What does the bold bit mean?

Ignore his reply, Tom, he was refering to, I would suggest, my Diary, where, on occasion, & only if the cap fits, we use, you know, commas correctly &, on occasion, with, if I may make so bold, abundant splendour.

We major in commas, but restrict the use of exclamation marks wherever possible.

Monte Carlo return...went well. Day two with 117k, avg 97 - going back to 800/1600. Happy.

Am ill unfortunately though. Tried to make Chicken Jambalaya the other day. Think cooking just isn't for me. Absolutely grinded through today too with stomach pains, headache etc, and played cash till close, for a 16 hour day, pretty monstrous. And will do the same tomorrow, the games are just so good at these things, and I still played my absolute best at all times today despite feeling rough as.

Just love the Monte Carlo so much. There's so much play, awesome structure, and I ran sick good with the table draw, having one of the best tables in the tournament all day. Love it.

Frankie made it through from #teamisit for the side bet prop, so we've scored some points. Wadey lost a sick pot to Eames to bust, and Julian is playing tomorrow. Mitch's team and Sykes' team are in good shape too.

Gonna be a sick weekend. Have a good feeling...
