My flight was at 1015 from Manchester this morning. For some inexplicable reason I decided to set my alarm for 8am. Allowing 2 hours 15 minutes to get up and ready, make the 2 hour drive, park, get to terminal, go through security and board the plane.

Just totally brainfarted. Never done that before.

I decided I could skip breakfast, skip showering, skip packing properly, skip all possible red lights and ignore all traffic laws and still maybe make it in time.  Worth a go right? And I'd enjoy driving like James Bond and feeling rebellious, especially in light of lessons learnt in Fridays drivers awareness course (yes another one).

Half an hour later, I'm just onto the motorway feeling like the sweat is on. I've made decent time and have to make up 20-30 minutes on the rest of the motorway to make it. Game on.

Oh no wait. I've forgotten my passport.

Oh now I'm on life tilt. Cue Jason Bourne-esque 180 and screech off in the other direction back home.

Oh no I've hit all the work traffic going back into Nottingham.

I get home, book a flight for later that day that changes at Helsinki, takes 3 times as long and costs an extra £315.

I fall back to sleep and instead of sleeping through my alarm like the aforementioned events suggest I might, I wake up in time, and get to the airport on time and am just about to board the plane. Phew.

Feeling better now, and I suppose I've ran good to never miss a flight before now considering I probably go on a plane 30 times a year.

One of the worst mornings of my life probably lol, telling Victoria wasn't easy, I've got some making up to do. Shame I've done my roll in Cheesy

If you book a return flight (with Ryanair) and miss the outbound flight, does your return flight get cancelled? I had already checked in to both and have the boarding pass.

If you miss any leg of a flight they have the right to, you need to check with them,

Pretty sure Ryanair don't sell return tickets. The fact you bought two at the same time doesn't make it a return.

That's a good point.

Though Woodseys comment makes me feel that since it's Ryanair, any excuse to squeeze more lolly out of you, they will.

Put it this way, no way I wouldn't be turning up at the airport without checking with them first, as you say its Ryanair FFS...
