What a day that was.

So the jet was set to leave 11am. Sam, Berridge and I arrived at some niche part of the airport (East Midlands) at five minutes to. No problem, the captain shakes our hands and says relax in the lounge. Rob has forgotten his passport so we're going to wait for him. Rob said he usually doesn't need a passport to get on a private jet!

We go through a private security bit and the plane is waiting for us just outside security. It's a beautiful jet. Inside has all the modcons you'd expect, with our own air hostess to serve champagne, sandwiches and macaroons. Posh persons delight!

The take off was insane, the thing just lifts into the air and within 30 seconds you're above the clouds. And the views on the way down were amazing.

A very smooth landing and we got off, and waited for our transfer to the casino.

We saw a helicopter with "Kings Casino" written on the side. Surely not...

Yup! And moments later we were in the air again, my first time on a helicopter as well! Some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen, and the viewpoint from the helicopter brings out the best of them.

We were greeted by Leon. Leon is the owner of the Kings Casino and the guy who'd paid for the jet and helicopter to fly us all out. He was also putting us up in his hotel for the trip and gave us gold cards for free food and drink. What an absolute boss. What do you even say to a guy like that?! He invited us to eat with him, and were treated to the most amazing food and service.  Lobster soup, which I'd never had before, was unbelievably tasty. Choice of Wagyu beef, beautiful fish, anything you wanted basically. We were treated like royalty all day in fact, it was the best service I've ever experienced. Leon personally ensured all of our wires had arrived and that we got absolutely best rate for changing £ into €. Made sure our rooms were to our liking, anything extra we needed he would sort etc. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the treatment we got yesterday.

That guy knows how to run a good casino. Treat your customer like Kings (hence the name, I realise now) and sit back and let them give you their money.

Then came the poker...tbc.

Blimey, Alex, living the dream, or what?

Wonder how many times Rob had arrived at an airport without his passport. I'd take the overs on 10.

The stream game was kicking off at 8pm and it was an all star lineup for the first night. Tony G, Berridge, Rob, Sam, Leon, couple of Czech / American punters. I didn't expect to be in it but was hoping of course and made sure I was at close to the top of the waiting list as possible.

I played a 50/100 side game and watched the stream game on the big screen. I've never felt so bowl playing 50/100! Everyone had around 10k and no straddles. Whereas we were watching a 100/100/200/400/800 game. With frequent 1600 straddles some 3200 and even one 6400. most ppl had 25-50k with a few 100+ stacks after a couple of hours inevitably!

At first I was dying to get into the game but as it got bigger and bigger I become more and more sceptical, thinking it was just ridic. Variance absolutely insane but a great spot to take a shot with two bullets and could run it up and have a huge win.

It was 11pm and my 50/100 game wasn't great at all, that also felt a bit ridic, to be killing time waiting for a seat in a bad 50/100 game. Trumper came out of the commentary booth and asked if I wanted to do some commentary.

At this point, I was on the verge of wimping out of the stream game even if I did get a seat and knew I'd love commentating on it, so I said alright. I tweeted that I was going into the booth. Within minutes I was offered a seat. I almost said no. I feared this sort of rant from Tony G if I sat with 25k and didn't put the ridic straddles on!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lG4LtJDIlA not working?

Sam reassured me that it would be fine, and if I put the 400 on no-one would say anything. I decided to go for it. Hadn't flown here to commentate, I'd flown to take a shot so that was what I was gonna do.

25k wasn't the shortest stack when I joined, but it was well below average. I joined in the 200 straddle, with Igor Kurganov on my right putting 400, and Tony G in the 800. Tony was drinking, and asked a few questions to the table about me, as if I wasn't there. "Where is Alex from", "is Alex a pro" etc. I spoke up for myself and he then addressed me directly. "How long is that 25k gonna last you do you think?". He had a smile on his face and I didn't feel like he was attacking me exactly, just feeling me out I guess. But obviously not particularly nice. It's hard to enjoy taking a shot when you feel like the smallest person at the table.

As this was going on it folded to me in the 200, and I looked down at . Raising felt best, I made it 2.2k and Igor folded and Tony called. The flop came , and I checked. Tony threw in 5k like it was a £5 tip to a waitress.

I jammed 22.8k. So to answer Tony's question, it might last me about 90 seconds!

He folded. I was off to a good start!

Watched the stream for first 90 minutes, Leon definitely loves to gamble. I think Rob was up 100K when I stopped watching. Looked a awesome game though

It was a really awkward stack to play from then on. With 1600 straddles on most hand and no-one folding pre, playing 30k is not ideal. I had ATo on the button, which was utg after Rob's 1600 straddle, and folded, same again with A3s. Again, it's hard to enjoy playing like that because I don't give anything to the game, I'm just that annoying shortstack who's waiting for a premium hand to jam it in and take a load of dead money. No-one likes that guy, so it felt pretty awkward, especially with Leon on my right who'd been so generous and welcoming.

The stream stopped at 1 so I had only been on for an hour. The game continued though, and I kept playing. The game got worse and worse as people quit and regs joined but actually got smaller, so I kept playing. Some hands were only straddled to 200 now!

Then I played a big one.

Berridge limps for 200 playing 10k, a few limps to me in the bb, I make it 2k with playing 30 ish. Igor calls from 200 straddle and Berridge calls. 3 ways.

. Checks round.

I bet 3k, only Igor calls.

. I check, Igor bets 15k, I call.

I feel I have no choice but to call with this hand and from preflop, feel shouldn't have too many 8x given my stack size/ position/ raise size/berridge stack size behind. He might bet the flop with them too. QTs is possible, as is 99. My hand looks so faceup as QQ/KK that I don't feel I can fold AJ.

He had T8s, but I'm OK with the call. It's a clear GTO call and don't think I can make exploitative adjustments vs Igor with no history.

Lost 11.5k on the day.

Today is a new day and I'm gonna be in the stream game from the start apparently. Though got messed around a bit yesterday with waiting list order (basically if Fedor or any big recreational player wants a seat, I'm gonna get usurped). It'll be a worse game I'm sure, but definitely smaller.  I'm looking forward to jumping back in the ring.

If Berridge was only playing 10k he must have been stuck ~150k.

Hope you rip 'em some new ones today Alex.

Ridiculously jealous, looks insane.

Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to sit there and look calm and unfazed playing them stakes, you looked fine, how u feel on the inside ? Ha

You've spoken about how much u rate the adrenaline rush when pulling off a big bluff etc playing poker, how u feel when u check shoved against Tony ( aware it wasn't a big bluff as such )

Best of luck out there, hope u get the lot
