Yesterday started off terrible, driving up to Birmingham for day 2 and busting in 20minutes in a super cold deck hand. Meh. Straight back to Notts sigh. Was gonna play 6max but LilDave text saying he was coming for a visit so dropped that idea and went for a curry instead with him, Keys, Keith and Mitch. Top bantaaahhh. Keys lost the flip for the bill AGAIN! It's getting a bit unfair how bad he runs at CCR. Tasty meal though

Went to the oldest pub in the country (world?!) for a drink after and then headed to DTD to mash up some cash games.
They all decided to play 2/5 in the aforementioned toughest game I've ever seen at DTD. I saw a 1/2 table full of fish and decided to take the sensible option. Don't often get a 1/2 table all to myself and it was absolute bliss. 1.2 dimeeeeeeees
Made almost all of the dollar from good value bets and seeing through silly bluffs. Tried one big bluff myself which didn't work. Further convincing me that making money in live cash is all about picking off spazzy bluffs, making really good thin value bets and good folds.
Topped my biggest ever pot last night. Don't wanna keep giving these HHs to attract people into my games but I was literally given £1200 by this guy. He was a young lad who'd come from a broken 1/2 table and sat to my right. I had been warned that he was ultra aggro, made large overbets, bluffs and generally really spewy. I had a feeling we were going to get into some battles, but I wasn't interested in cockwaving, I was just gonna pick him off with a decent hand. It didn't take too long before I called his open IP with

. A set would be nice here.
Hi derr

. 3ways, rando checks, he cbets 45 (~pot) I call. Other guy folds.

He bets 102, I raise to 250, he reraises to 452 with 570 back. I shift uncomfortably in my seat, do a tiny sigh (not ott). Then call. Live pro init.

Didn't wanna a see a club, but was never folding to this guy. He stacked his chips up on top of each other. Then slid them across the line. As soon as the last stack crossed the line I said call. His reaction was priceless.
"Oh shit".
Shows the

and mucks. TYVM

Seemed to lose a whole bunch of allins though throughout the night, could've been a 2.5k+ night if I'd held/ won a £440 flip with Adam. No complaints from me though, very good day. And a good end to my first year as a fulltime pro. September 17th is when I first starting playing cash in the VIC during the WSOPE last year, what a year it's been since then. Results for the year to follow.
