Was a great game, lots of fun and some tough ol spots to keep the old brain working
considering I got a train from leeds and stayed one night in a hotel to play I think my EV for defo the worst lol but heyho it's one game so doesn't really matter and it was loads of fun and thoroughly enjoyed my night in notts.
Tried my best to busto Rob, but then realised it would take too long so lost interest
also Kieth did fold to one of my 4bets, I open to £40 he makes it £135 i make it £410 and he folded, but he looked absolutely mortified whilst he was doing it.
Nice to see everyone
Why is the 4bet so big? Do you not 4 bet bluff in those games?
400bigs deep OOP to Kieth, if I were to 4b bluff this is the smallest I could possibly make it imo

Almost typed this but then I thought they did teach "i before e except after c" at school and it is only a couple of years since Dave was at school so maybe still fresh in his memory ;-)

I dunno, but OOP to Keith, he's probably going to be 3 betting you a lot (obviously I'm unaware of other table dynamics atm), so it makes your bluffs more expensive. Not sure if I agree with making pre flop raises bigger just because your 400 bigs deep, Keith isn't going to play 'bad' post flop.

But making it bigger discourages him from peeling when we want folds. Even though he still will. 100% of the time.

we're prolly muddling what our opinions of a 4b bluff here would be, I wouldn't ever 4b a total airball here, stuff like Q9o, K7s etc we don't expect it to get through all that often and we're going to have really bad visibility on pretty much any flop we wanna play for value. I fully expect Keith to shift his 3betting frequency more dependent on his hand than the spot, than if we were say 200bbs deep - where he's prolly gonna 3bet the top of his range and the top of his "folding range" (stuff that he doesn't think can profitably peel) whereas 400bbs deep he's more likely to pick hands he'd call with shallower to be his "light" 3bs, 89s/T8s/KJs etc, not that he's always gonna peel those hands to a 4b but given that he's going to be playing post flop a higher % of the time he's gonna need a stronger "light" 3b range. I'm gonna chose stuff that I would have to fold shallower, that's gonna have equity in these spots to 4b "light" AJ/44/QJs etc that would be bad to 4b fold 200bbs deep. My range is "balanced" to the extent that I never have complete badugi but I have a range to 4b fold/dilute how premium my 4b range is so Keith can't just 3b fold vs me for fun whilst still maintaining a pretty strong range. basically i want a light 4b range that's stronger than his light 3b range lol, as I don't expect him to just 3b a total airball all that much
for this reason I can 4b bigger profitably and hopefully discourage too many 3bet/3b-peels from Keith which aren't spots we wanna be getting into

Appears to be a good technical post, but I will read later when I'm not hanging.

See this is the sort of great analyse you get when a group of mates sit together coz you can't spout bollocks and get away with it. Excellent stuff IMO. As for your visibility Dave , I did notice you were not wearing glasses. Have you had your eyes lasered or was you wearing contacs?
