Do you think the increased buy-in for the 0.5/1 game has had an effect on the 1/2 game?  I would imagine moderately fishy regs from the 1/2 who felt the 0.5/1 was too small when you could buy-in for £100 (and not straddle) have now moved back down now they can play deeper.

Yes that's definitely happened unfortunately.

I can think of one who assures me he has done this recently...

I'm at dtd for the next deepstack so that should at least inject a bit of fresh losing liquidity into the pool.

Enjoyed your company last night......... hope you appreciated the protection on the 10 2 hand! Sadly another jack or 4 didn't hit on your under the gun pre flop shove on the last two tables. Believe it or not I actually was hoping for any of the above mentioned two cards.

Don't forget................. Bottle of Corona from the back of the fridge, no lime pls.

Yesterday was a really fun day. Tobys been here all week and it was his last night. He's at uni in Bognor Regis of all places and there isn't much going on there, so he's been going fairly ott on his "gambling week". He woke up at midday and wandered into town and played blackjack all afternoon! Apparently him Tom and Andy stayed up till 9am last night flipping and he took a monkey off Andy! So coupled with the two big cash pots he's won off me he pretty much crushed our house all week!

Anyway Hannah him and Tom and I went to chiquitos for some pre DTD nosh, very nice - best restaurant around DTD imo ainec (granted only competes with Nandos and Frankie and Bennys but still...). We were persuading Hannah to play the 15£ comp, she was very nervous bless her cos she finds DTD very intimidating and isnt confident in her poker and I think had some wrong preconceptions about what it would be like. Luckily she settled in really quickly, she said her table was friendly and she had a really good time. She got short, then went on a spin up, and looked like she might be in with a shot of the final table with 27 left, but not meant to be. Good result though, I think she'll be back!

Meanwhile, Mitch, Andy and I played the 50, Mitch and I both still in with two tables left, as well as G2L and Shaun69uk. Was a really fun table. George had loads of chips but suddenly there were all in the middle with the sailing boats, up against the fishhooks of Shaun, not sure what happened there but George didn't get there. I found myself for the first time ever limping utg with T2o and thinking it was the correct play! Was down to 2bigs and was utg, so obviously getting it in with any two, but though I'd create myself some extra equity by limping in, hoping some people would limp behind and someone decent would iso/protect me and I'd get a treble or quadruple up if I got lucky. Worked out perfect, was a limper behind and Shaun shoved with 88, I didn't really need any protection as the board ran out 22xTx! Didn't recover however and busted just before in 17th, mincashMitch managed a 8th placed finish. Was a really good laugh though, but typically there was a really good 1/2 game on and we were both missing out. Managed to win 65 playing DC, then 450 on the 1/2. Came home and played more DC with everyone, spun 20 into 140 and called it a night. Really fun - loving DC atm.

Played a funny padooki hand with Wadey. I draw a 5 (2nd nuts) on the 2nd draw and in a feeble attempt to get paid, in response to Wadeys £20 bet, I give some speech about how I dunno what to do with my hand and shouldn't be playing these games. Min raise please dealer! The look he gave me was priceless! A very angry man...

Got owned by the supposed "fish" in the 1/2 game. Toby raises to 7, fish 3bets to 20, I 4b Kings to 65, fish calls. It comes J65r, fish leads for 100 with 180 behind. I shove thinking there's no way he's folding now. He tanks and folds AJ faceup! Aksflwlkmmdow:;grekv

Nice to have a good winning day though after a tough few sessions.

Isn't being all in blind next hand better than being all in with T2o now?

Don't think so, there's the sb, bb and antes there, whereas the next hand there's only the sb and antes when you're in the bb. And you can't generate this overlay by limping in. Is this correct?

& it's going to come 22xTx, so why wouldn't you get it in with T2?

I thought this.

but then when Alex said this...

It made a lot of sense, think I agree with Alex.

Meh, I still thinking folding is best with complete garbage which obv includes 102o.

Give me a random hand, with slightly less potential overlay over in this spot.

Tbh your overall equity in the tournament isn't going to be overly effected by any choice you make in this spot, the only massive mistake you can make is folding your bb next hand which you see way more often (a non zero amount that is) than it should.

My instinct is to defer to a NLHE tournament (Cadillac of poker)  champion rather than a guy who's basically never played a tournament in his life but I still don't see it. There'll still be a BB in the next hand. The fact that it used to be in your stack rather than your neighbours makes no difference for EV calculations right? Also how is you limping generating overlay? Unless the others at the table are terminally braid dead they knnow you're going all in and your stack is presumably too small to stop someone who was going to raise otherwise from raising, so why would your limp cause them to overlimp where they would otherwise fold? You're getting the same overlay as if it's limped around with you in the BB and the button pops it up to 3x or whatever.

Though to be fair this is a disagreement about a situation that pretty much never comes up and when it does a mistake costs you like 0.25BB so I'm not sure why I put 10 mins of my time into arguing it. Smiley

Ok let's put it to bed then. On to more important matters. I learnt something today new today. I was over at hannahs and happened to be looking out the window and I could see into nextdoors bathroom. The girl in there was standing wiping her arse. According to hannah and her housemates, standing up is normal. Wtf?!

if you've always sat you're the weird one met.

sitting allows a more relaxed rectum for wipage. however it's also exceptionally girly so men that do that are poofties. hope that helps.

I would imagine that many of those who are comfortable with or used to using a bidet might presume that sitting is the norm, however I am certain and prepared to bet my limit that standing is normal for most folk.

I am a stander, it is just hell of a lot easier access imo.

I think the majority of yanks must be sitters as their toilets often have motion sensored flushes, which means when you stand if flushes and you haven't finished, very tilting as it won't flush again when you want it to.
