some very ill informed posts about "being backed being such a bad thing" have been popping up recently - i really cant be arsed to argue - but it can have way more merits than people seem to think - than the "giving half away" mentality
It's pretty bad (in most cases) if you want to make cash game poker your career / main source of income. Can be arsed to argue if you want to.

It doesn't long term solve the problem of why players don't have a bankroll, and/or can/t maintain a bankroll once they get one. To be a successful cash game player, this is more important than anything else (IMO). Staking for tournaments is a different subject.

Titbeam owning in this thread. Pretty much a big +1 to his posts.
As for being staked, nothing wrong with at all in the right circumstances. Just too many ppl go into it for the wrong reasons imo.

The other problem with staking (all staking, cash and tournaments) is how good a proposition is it.
I would guess that the vast majority of staking money is going into losing / break even players..... can't see why that is ever going to be a good idea.

I actually just used the word 'cool' in my post. In most situations I think that being backed for cash in all but a very few unusual situations is a bad decision from either the backer or the player or both.

some very ill informed posts about "being backed being such a bad thing" have been popping up recently - i really cant be arsed to argue - but it can have way more merits than people seem to think - than the "giving half away" mentality
I am staked and very happy atm I play bigger more regularly and my win rate is alot bigger after the split

If you weren't staked what would you be playing? anything under 26$ (mainly mtts and 90s and 45s) If i wasnt staked i would prob play 6$ 13$ 90s The prob was that the 13s and 26s didnt run enough for me to just play the 90s and the mtts are too higher variance for me Well im winning more atm then i would normally do but only been staked for 4 weeks so far
