never going busto and understanding the concept of money having good friends who want to give you good advice/care about you >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> being reckless and going busto at 22.

I agree. Nits get it all at the end of the day, and for the people saying " Going busto is character building" how come the same individuals follow a cycle of busto>mega robusto>degen it off busto. Alot of players i encounter are talented but while they lack the disicipline to tackle the "intangibles" of the game, they will struggle with BRM and getting the most from there ability.

Agree. I do however agree going busto once will never ever ever make you do it again.

Disagree with this.  Been busto more than once. I'm sure Dubai etc have too.

Interesting thoughts about going busto being a "learning cuve" etc etc. I'll use Dubai as an example, he made that excellent post the other day about having some regrets about his degenning days and having little to show for it. Whereas "lesser" players have more to show for there talent.

I think theres a stigma related to being a degenerate with the community. Its seen as cool to spend xxxxx in strip bars, take shots live on the edge ala Rounders. Theres nothing cool about getting it quietly, so it people often take the more romantic approach of being a degenerate.

Don't get me wrong. Never going busto is awesome. I just think doing it and being in a hole from a while teaches you the value of having it (speaking from experience lol)

Some people are born nits and know this. Others need to learn the hard way

Spending money and doing things to impress people is not cool. Id just like to say I was spending x amount in clubs etc before loads on here was even playing, and hardly anyone was being balla etc- I certainly wasnt doing it to fit in or be seen as cool, cos with all respect hardly any poker people were normally invited anyway

Getting it quietly is the new cool for sure. I been losing it quietly and it aint quite as fun

Brilliant post on 2+2 about Cole South and Brian Townsends downswings when someone saying dont worry they had positve years anyway

"Nothing to see here, it's a well known fact that

A) all results tracking sites are wildly inaccurate
B) everyone wins at 10ptbb/100 at the stakes that aren't tracked (used to be 25/50, now 10/20)
C) Everyone makes money staking other players
D) People are often staked for big losing sessions, but not for big winning sessions
E) Poker players dont pay tax
F) Everyone wins a lot of money on untracked Euro sites
G) They play private live games where they win millions every day of the week."
