Today was a good day. A very good day.

Day One of the Monte Carlo went like a dream. I was THAT guy on the table that is running the show. And I don't mean to imply there was any skill involved. There was hardly any. I mean, I played my hands well, but it doesn't take a lot of talent to win AA vs AK, nor hit gutshots vs stations, or makes flushes vs Gosney, or flop a set and have someone 3b shove on the flop with Ace high. I mean, I could convince myself it was because I'd been so active that had induced some spazzouts or loose calls. Maybe it was. Or maybe, when the Monte Carlo is on at DTD, I am fucking blessed!

Today, it was an easy game.

It wasn't without speed bumps however, I lost a fairly big pot early on with KK vs AQ all in pre when he binked a flush on the river. That was a sigh moment and I lost a 90k pot in the last level of the day, but other than that - it was plain sailing.

Bagged up 240k and am the chip leader by about 40k, average is 85k. Return on Sunday for Day 2 at 800/1600 I think.

My love for the game was at astronomic levels today, maybe even a 5 month peak since the last one. I absolutely loved it. I ran one huge bluff, during which I had that amazing feeling inside where you're risking a lot of chips, there's a lot at stake and you have a no equity holding, but at the same time, you're so sure your opponent is going to give in to the pressure and fold - you feel so pumped up and nervous, but at the same time, really calm and relaxed because you know it's going to work.

Finding it hard not to get my hopes up and dreams of back to back wins are firmly in my head right now! I'm just gonna play my best on Sunday and hopefully good things will happen.

I've just dug out the TR from the time last one, almost 6 months ago. I bagged up 130k after day 1, so I've got almost double that. Sick life. So excited!

Got up bright and early this morning, didn't sleep very well. I dunno whether everyone is like this, but in our house instead of keeping on top of the washing up, hoovering, general tidying etc, we tend to let it all build up until it just gets too much, then we have a big session.

Today was that day. Andy was also up and we set about doing it. Thigh had been playing cash all night so we let him sleep in and fade it. However, the christmas songs being belted out on the radio unleashed the Mariah's within us and Tom was awoken and came down to join us. Naturally, instead of all doing it we decided to flip for the tasks, one for living room, one for kitchen and Thigh lost them both wiiii! So the poor chap had a few hours kip, woken up to the lovely sound of Andy and I singing, FOOLISHLY got out of bed and now has a mountain of washing up and hoovering to do #changeinfortunes.

Hannah didn't stay over last night so instead I let Holly sleep in my bed lol. Think all her fleas have gone...

Great Read Alex...Poker is a confidence game for sure and its good to hear you are "riding high" at present, and long may it continue..I think the fact you have cleaned the house etc today will stand you in good shape tomm as a distraction from poker can really work..Off for my distraction at the gym now, so lets see if we can both progress to day 3 and who knows maybe ....   Smiley

All the best

Fraser

PS  love the term "spazzouts"
