The pulchritudinous soon to be Mrs Victoria Mitchell (nee Coren) was scared of flying and actually took counselling from a specialist in assisting those with such a phobia.
He died in a plane crash.
Laser surgey? I'll stick with my contact lenses. I had the gas peremable ones for years but I've gone soft these days. One eye set for distance, the other for reading.

Vicky is all the rage today.
And I had to look this up, & to save others as ignorant as me,.....
pulchritudinous - physically beautiful, comely
God knows how one would ever say it though, or introduce it into casual convo.

A little piece of me died when I read that she was engaged...

What a strange coincidence Maria.
Yes I wore them for 4 hours yesterday and my eyes have been very sore since then. And I almost put a whole in my
mirror
fist in frustration when I was trying to take them out last night. Unbelievable tilt.
I like you don't need them to see all the time, just things medium-far away, like the tournament screens, people on nearby tables, sometimes even when I'm in seat two and call someone down and they're in seat 7 or 8, I need to squint to see what they've got before saying "it's good".
I've always worn glasses for driving, but I just look so nerdy in them, doesn't go with the BMW image at all.
***
In poker news, we ALMOST broke our unbeaten streak last night, but Tom Walster rescued us so it's 12/12 for March yay
Secret Tom opens £7, I 3b
to £24, Walster cold 4bs to £75. I knew I was winning but just wanted to take the pot down, so 5b shipped £400 and he snapped me off quicker than Stato can say his subway order with
and the board bricked and Q high held. #lovethegame.
That is a serious hand history by the way, was pretty funny! £100 richer for the day, can't complain.

Get yourself some decent designer glasses that actually go well with your face shape, and stop pulling out those wonky, wire thin spectacles. Could pull off the "almost important enough to be noticed businessman" look with some sleek specs and a big car mate.
PS. How do you get it so that, when you're at a poker table, people just GIVE you money for no reason whatsoever? I think this would be a good addition to my arsenal.

I know this isn't a serious question but I think it does have a serious answer. GL convincing me that there isn't a skill in getting fish to play big pots with you/ gamble with you/ pay you off.
