I am definitely putting some lollipops in my bag for next weekend and hoping to have George on my table.

For all of those who are saying I should take criticism better, it wasn't the comment about my 'hollywooding' that annoyed me it was him questioning my professionalism. I wouldn't openly accuse somebody of being shit at their job on a public forum. Especially somebody I don't even know.

Poker Has hit it's peak IMO
the level of standard has increased greatly and alot more ppl know what they are doin
People don't want a hobby where they can do significant chunks of their wages all the time
Also not much poker in the media as before also
I think it's important to give the customer value for money but it's hard when thrre is a small customer base

might as well change this forum to teameureka.com
noone can seem to accept criticisms or feedback.
The games are unfortunately very cliquey, especially when you see the "home videos" being posted on here whilst they are playing at DTD.
I understand all you guys are friends but seriously drop the penis measuring and the ego.
I gave my opinions, but my intentions were good. Some of the other comments made have not been at all constructive, and seem to be based on jealousy, bitterness and a desire to be unpleasant.
These guys are all great people, with a WONDERFUL attitude towards the game. The effect they have on poker is, for the most part, highly positive. Yes, there are a few areas where they need to rethink certain things. But that's the case for everyone surely? I know it is still the case for me. Remember, these are young kids for the most part; they have not been playing very long and don't have huge amounts of life experience. Given this fact, I think that their attitude and behaviour is extremely classy. I wish I had shown so much class at that stage in my poker career.
Of course there is a
perception
of cliqueiness, and this is something they need to address. And obviously there are other ways in which they can improve in their professional practice. But come on... this applies to everyone! Tbh, I don't think they actually are particularly cliquey, it just appears that way to outsiders. They are a close group of friends, but I have found them very outward facing as a group. I have always felt welcome when I have sat in their games, and I have seen them welcome new players too. Can they improve? Of course! Do they need to alter the perception? Of course! Are they horrible, cliquey, unfriendly, ego-driven kids? Not at all!
Also, I think they have taken the criticisms extremely well. Were you really expecting them to not even defend themselves in the slightest? That is ridiculous... everyone's natural reaction is to stand up for yourself when criticised, even whilst you are also considering that at least some of what is being said might be true. Criticism hurts. When I was in my early twenties I'd have come out all guns blazing if I was criticised in this manner. It speaks volumes about these kids that they have already indicated that they have taken on board and are thinking about what has been said.
I stand by everything I said. But it was meant constructively, not in a mean critical manner. I would not have bothered writing what I did if these guys were not 'worth it'. When I think about all the scumbags I have played poker with over the years, it is pretty clear to me that the DTD regs are some of the good guys in poker. Give them comments, constructive criticism, advice and help so that they will shine like the stars they are. But don't bitch and moan at them.

Put very well Honeybadger. In regard to our perception, generally speaking I think it is only players who havnt played the 1/2 & 2/5 games that could suggest a 'clique'. Anyone who has played the games will know:
Yes we are good friends, we play together, travel together and enjoy the general exchanges of 'banter' you get in the live games. However all players get involved, or at least are actively encouraged to, which generally makes the games much more enjoyable for everyone.
If it wasn't for this aspect of the game, I don't think a lot of players, professional or otherwise would be attracted to the games.
Do you think it's more appealing to play in a lively, chatty, action filled game, or one where table chat of a 'friendship group' nature is kept to a minimum? Generally speaking the nature of our discussions is entirely inclusive. I am however aware of the negative impact an exclusive table dynamic could be... I seriously doubt many recreational players who had genuine ambitions of regularly playing the 1/2 games would have been put off by our behaviour.
Although some small changes can be made, recession is definately the main reason for the demise of the bigger games

This bolder part made me think.
You know, I'd rather play at a table full of Team Eureka and the rest at DTD than play at Gala Stockton with the angle-shooting old-school regulars.

VERY well said. Honeybadger has been spot on with all of his his posts. For a group of young Lads, you lot are miles ahead of the pack purely because you're willing to listen and think outside the box.
