So I absolutely loved it last night. Those big cash games with a great mix of people are the best - definitely my favourite form of poker. We had our phones taken off us, and I'd be pretty bored without a phone on most live poker tables, but didn't miss it at all - there was so much good banter going around, and even though the cards didn't generate that much action, it was still a lively game - and a profitable one too - plenty of value and although I was oop to Dave who I felt would be my biggest threat, he stayed away from me all night (purely by coincidence of the cards I'm sure, but still, was nice).
I had spent lots of time beforehand thinking about how I was gonna handle Rob (and I don't just mean how to play vs him), then he only turned up at 1 and played for half an hour, was a bit of a waste in the end!
But it certainly made it easier without him, I felt 100% in my comfort zone, and really confident in every spot / situation. I played a bit fancier than I thought I would - again just how the cards fell. I did a couple of triple barrel bluffs, that I don't usually make a habit of, and also did a couple of floats when Ian and Walster checkraised me on raggy boards, turned the gin card in both hands, and played them v aggresively - vs Walster shoved over turn bet with two overs and a flush draw but was snapped by top set, gg £1250, and vs Ian, I bet £500 on the turn with a gutshot and flush draw, and he folded TT- Berridge insisted we rabbit hunted the river for some reason - and it was the ubertilting

, giving me a flush and Ian a set!
I lost an annoying pot vs Berridge when I 3bet him with

and bet £75, £175, £350 on

, which at the time I thought was a nice river value bet - I knew he had a small pair or 4x and put me on AK/AQ the whole hand, so it was defo getting paid off, unfortunately he c/raised allin on the river to whcih I folded, and he showed 33.
But the following hand made up for that...
Walster limps £5, Berridge raises £50, I 3bet to £160 with

, fold, Berridge calls

he donks £125, I raise £325, he raises £1200, I shove £2750, he snaps.
At this point there's £5.8k in the middle, the biggest pot I've played (just), and although I have the nuts, I thought he'd had a big draw a lot of time, as obv sets /two pairs much less likely. I asked him if he wanted to run it twice, since he'd shown an interest in doing this earlier. This was a nice conversation for me.
"Do you wanna run it twice? I've got top set"
"You've got top set?......I can't win then"
That's a nice thing to hear in your biggest ever pot

He had 42o

<3
I won £2.8k in the end, which was a great result overall, though I was up £4.3 at my peak, still I don't regret how I played any hands, and feel happy also that I didn't just nit it up and play the nuts, every bluff I made worked and every hero call I made also was right, and happy with my plays vs Ian and Tom also. Feeling very good today, just wanna get back in the ring and play some more now
