On the river he said you win and mucked, I was really intrigued to see his cards, and also really didnt want to show my hand. At Dtd the rule is that unless I insist to see his cards, he gets to muck AND I have to show mine. Felt a bit douchey and it's one of the only times I've ever asked to see someone's cards, but I did this time.
Dislike in general but not that bad when everyone sees your hole cards in this specific spot imo
Bnag imo

meh if he's not a reg i'd just let him muck his hand.
did u insta-call the river bet?
In Macau if you get called on the river you don't have to show if the other guy mucks. I'm not sure which rule I prefer.

I think you're right Cos, I should've just let him muck since he wasn't a reg and it was quite obvious he had no showdown value so I didn't really learn anything from seeing the ten high anyway. And it did seem to tilt him quite a bit which I don't like to do. Fwiw I definitely prefer the non-DTD rule. I hate the fact that you call someone on the river and they muck their hand yet still get to see your cards. Even though you have the right to see theirs, you can only do so by insisting and basically being a douche. I like the pokerstars rule where you can just muck behind. Funnily enough this cropped up in the stream game last friday, and Rob didn't realise that was the rule in his own club and said he'd change it immediately!
Wasn't a hellmuth snap call but it was less than 2 seconds. Just don't think he plays any
x or Axhh hands like this ever, and he's not repping anything else for value, no-one bombs rivers with one card Ten high flushes, his line was just so fos.
Lost 3 allins in that game and I was stuck quite a bit- I put somebody allin with AK for £200 over a £35 reraise, and he tank called with a lot of speech with kings #wpsir. Then I moved to the other table and had two patented Goulder WAL moments with AA and KK preflop and ended up a big winner on the day, so was a good session.
Feeling great going into today, 64 remain.

Must admit I like the DTD rule, but then I also don't mind the more widely used in lower comps "all hands at showdown" rule. Yes, it's nice to be able to muck when you've 3bet light and whiffed, but I know the rule before I reach for chips.
Your villain could have misplayed AK (no hearts) and bet 200 on the river to scare off a low heart, could he not? The limping of AK not unheard of in some cash quarters.
If you don't think he has a heart, what else are you putting him on other than specifically T8o? Quite dangerous to put someone on a specific hand. Interesting to read your confidence in the hand (not questioning it for a second; just observing you know this stuff considerably better than I)
VBOL today, anyway.

thanks Tal, yeh I mean I put him on basically no pair hands (which could be anything like Q2 or JT, but more likely to have some small equity like a gutshot), or a low pair like a 6, 7, 5 or small pp, with no heart. So not one specific hand, but T8o is one of the most likely hands he'd play like that out of all those hands - got some equity on the flop with a gutshot, turns and up and down, and has zero showdown value by the river so has to bluff to win.

Understood. Thanks.
If he had checked the river, as you think he's weak, can you get value from a £150 bet on the river from AK or bluffcatchers? Could you bet to induce or is that too confident?

I was out of position, but had I'd been in position and had he checked to me, I'd be tempted to do something like bet £20 to induce

What an absurd question! Sorry!

That dude was a douche, nitrolling that and just generally going on about how bad he runs in every pot he wins or loses. Damaged gambler.
