I'm posting this here Alex because I didn't want to put something that might be interpreted by some people as negative on your staking thread.

I was going to buy a small 1% piece of your ME action until I read "the clause" at the end of your staking proposal.

I can't help feeling that it's wrong to appeal to the community spirit of blonde to get as many forum members as possible on board for a group funk and to help you spread the variance for such a large buyin at a reasonable mark-up only for you to insert "the clause" in case you don't need them any more.

What would happen to the community spirit then, and how do you think you would be regarded by our blonde community should you subsequently make a deep run?

I know this was debated last year but I just needed to get it off my chest.

Alex hasn't "appealed to the community spirit of blonde" to sell this though. At no point did he mention anything about "trying to get as many members of the forum as possible on board for a group funk". This might be something about staking that you greatly value, but I'm pretty sure what Alex is offering in his thread in a chance for investors to win a large sum of money from his main event performance, sure, if we all get to stand around in a circle, hold hands and sing his praises as he marches to victory, then great, but I'm pretty sure people will still want paying when he ships the 8milly.

It's not like he's saying: "I'm shit at poker, but we're all friends, let me have a spin pls?"

He's used the forum to sell for the event, sure, but he's offering (what I believe to be) a greatly +ev investment for people on here, with terms clearly detailed. If people don't like it they don't have to buy! It even says this in the OP!

I'm with Karabiner on this. I personally don't think its right and I will be exercising my right not to buy. Good luck Alex and I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling out with or without Ralph and me.

Hope many blondes can get involved and have a piece. If we win I reckon I could overtake Red-Dog in diary hits. Let's make dreams happen.

Fair to say that weakens my argument somewhat

Hi Ralph.

Fair comments and I respect your decision and appreciate you posting it here and not on the thread.

In a perfect world I would make my decision the night before however events like this take some forward planning.

Whilst I greatly appreciate the blonde community and all that it has done for me, I am a professional poker player first and foremost and that must come first. Bankroll management is paramount and that is not just limited to dropping down stakes when necessary, it also means making best use of the resources available to you. It is important to me that I have all options available to me and I still believe it's possible to want a bunch of blondes to get involved and have a community sweat too.

In the unlikely event that this comes up, I would offer all investors a freeroll in the main anyway.

I think the 'professional poker player' argument wud be stronger when applied to longterm staking. I don't think it carries the same weight when applied to shot taking in a donkathon where it's like buying a lottery ticket.

Haha that's incred! She's so lucky! Knew we picked a good home. Glad she's never caused any problems or stresses in her first year Tongue
