@vinny - yes in for Luton, book a table for us at nandos pls I'll get saving Wink

@monda - yeh seen a bit it crowd, it's ok - countdown scene admittedly incred though <3

Weeeeeee Smiley

Utterly Shameless

What?

I merely asked if he was coming to Luton next week, and asked him if he knew there was a nandos in Luton. I even went to the trouble of pointing out the questions weren't linked, in any way.

Mr goulder has just been kind enough offer to take me to dinner. I didn't ask to be taken. It would be very rude of me to refuse.
Not so well disguised expectation that Alex will be out before Dinner.  Though maybe late lunch would be good too! Am down on Thursday.

London Trip Report

On Tuesday I was in 3 minds about my plans for the week and I think I decided I was definitely going to do each of the three options at one point. Barcelona for WPTN. London for EPT side and cash. And then the lazy option of staying in nottingham.

After waking up on Wednesday hungover and very tired, I text Deadman and Mitch to cancel London and decided to go for the lazy option. Then I got talked into it and thought fuck it. Good decision.

It was a great little trip, really enjoyed London for once. We played in good games, ate good food, bumped into plenty of heroes and even managed a few hours of champagne and sheesha celebrating stato's win.

The hangover after said celebration wasn't pretty and was made infinitely worse by the fact that I had to sleep ON THE FLOOR in our hotel room! Stato couldn't get to where he had been staying so apparently I generously offered him my bed! So I ended up on the floor and it was pretty horrible. Body ached A LOT yesterday.

My middle brother, Mark is working in London too now so I met him and my Dad for lunch yesterday which was really nice to see them. I was desperate to go home and sleep it off in an actual bed at this point so went to meet the others who had unfortunately got involved in another juicy cash game, despite it being 1pm. We ended up staying till 630pm which I really didn't wanna do but was outvoted and maybe I shouldn't have played, but what else was I gonna do for 5 hours on my own when feeling like crap? Ended up doing a bag which put a bit of a sour note on the trip even though I was still up quite a bit.

I slept in the car which made me feel better and once back in Notts, drove straight to DTD to power through like a true pro, and ended up winning £1.5k in the 1/2 game there to get out of it for the day - VERY satisfying and now feeling great about the break.

Great to get some wins under the belt anyway and definitely encouraged me to spend more time in London. I think the key is having a mate at the table with you to chat to. Most london games I've found pretty unfriendly and antisocial, so it really helped having Mitch in all my games (bumhunting me obv) to chat to all night.

Now I'm even more of a quandary about my plans for the next year as London has put itself back in the running!

My favourite hand of the trip.

£2/5, very loose and splashy player opens utg £30, young asian player calls, Mitch calls, I call in position with .

Checks to me, I bet £70, all three players call!

Checks to me again, I bet £175, utg folds, asian player makes it £540, Mitch folds, I'm allin for £900 total, he calls

I announce "Ace" and he says those lovely two words "you win".

I believe there's no value hand in his range that he checks twice on that board, when it's 4 ways, and especially considering how the opener had been playing. When he raises the turn it's just always a big draw trying to look strong and get me off an ace, but really he's repping f all.

It's still not easy to go with A9 in that spot, and given the game was quite big for me, I could have easily wimped out but I was really pleased I went with my read and was right, and most importantly, held up!

Guilty, I guess. But it wasn't intentional.

I did win it though,  did I mention that?

Didnt you win a comp at DTD once as well? Santy Carlo or something like that?

Looks boss, really wanted to go last time i was in london but had a suitcase and they would not store it for me. Walked in the Empire and it was not a problem at all, i wanted to keep my backpack with me as it had money/passport laptop in etc and that was not an issue either so Hippo left a bit of a sour taste for me!

Having some big swings lately, every day in the last 5/6 days has been 4 figures one way or the other. Think it's been alternating, WLWLWL.

So it's been stressful! I've genuinely had both of these emotions at certain moments during the last few days

"I love this so much I never want to do anything else for a job"

"I'm hate this game, I can't do this for a living anymore"

Cheesy

What can I say, I'm an emotional guy! The latter emotion only ever lasts for a few minutes, sometimes a bit longer. But a good night's sleep always cure's it and ready to get back on the horse.

In other news, check out how my cooking has progressed this year. From the infamous Fry-up attempt to this:
