The SKY comp turned into my only sweat for the day, was MASSIVE chips from about 150 left, chip leader on the bubble coolering Ryan, then in the top 2/3 all the way till the blow up to finish 19th. Big bluff then lost 2 allins to bust. Pretty annoyed at myself, was a good chance, good tournament and I played badly in the crucial hand.
Oh well, enjoyed getting owned by Tikay twice, two river bluffs in a row got through! One of them was a 1/9 pot too! I should probably stick to the croquet and piano...

Ooh, unlucky Alex, was hoping you'd Final that. Good Tourney, £12,000 to the winner.
I did not bluff you in EITHER hand I won v you. Please, please, such suggestions are bad for my image.
In the first, on the A-Q-10-9-7 (sort of) Board, I had 5-5, & bet 251 into 4,912, giving you no choice but to
call
fold. You made an old man happy by folding.
The other hand, I assume either you or me misread the board? I had 4-4, the flop was (something like) 3-5-7. I turned my set, 3-5-7-4, & then on the river, the 6 arrived for a board straight! (3 diamonds, too). Was pretty surprised when you folded to my modest river bet. (You claimed you had 9-9......).
The A-A v your 7-7 hand was against Natalie Bromley, the ill-dressed lady I introduced you to in Vegas this summer, & who was at the SPT last week.
Hope all is well with you. When are you 25 - January?
I hope you'll be playing the UK Poker Championships thing in February, too. The sort of thing you bink annually, that.

Morning Sir,
Well I folded a 9 in the hand you had 55, so you bluffed me off it and you got me off a chop on the 34567 board. I read you for the flush
Yes I met Natalie again at the SPT last weekend, she's lovely. Had I known it was her I would not have got in 77 for 20bbs! If only her alias wasn't so deceptive.
January 4th is the big day. My mother is taking us all on our annual musical trip - to see Matilda - which will be awesome I'm sure.
And yes, definitely playing the UK Poker Championships. Lots to look forward to over the coming months....

Remarkably close to the truth, Mr Dog Expert.
You would not BELIEVE the complexity of the rules on these things. On top of that, many Gaming Companies employ legal bods to make "spoiler complaints" against rval sites. If proven, these go on a sort of regulatory "totting-up" procedure, & the consequences can be pretty serious.
It's caused more headaches than enough on Ch 861, believe me.

Had a pretty nutlow permutation of events this weekend. Need one of those decision trees again.
Friday
Was due back in Notts at 5pm, plan was to go home, freshen up etc and be at DTD for about 8 for the deepstack. Traffic was so bad ended up back in notts at about 6, so just thought I'd go straight to DTD. That had the following cause and effect:
Traffic -> Do chunks playing cash pre Deepstack -> Nightmare start to deepstack -> Grind bowl all night, finally spin up, get the "hope" -> Busted by PJ at 410am last level of the day. 0 hours spent in juicy cash game.
Saturday
Grind deepstack again, goes well, make day two with average. Juicy cash game insta breaks when I sit down.
Sunday
Nut worst table draw. Had many softer EPT tables, and never a tougher deepstack table. JGill, Thigh, MPerrins, Me, Leo Mcclean, Chip leader, Dan Ward. Did a shit bluff, then got stacked by Thigh - second housemate to stack me in the same tournament! Urgh. Would've been alright if either of them had gone on to FT etc, but as always, we all make day two and brick it
Home in time to do chunks playing sundays, and blowup in a big sweat.
Yesterday I played bad again in a few hands, getting stacked twice by John in £600+ pots! One was really cold, the other - really stupid. Then I just got into that frame of mind where you're stuck chunks in a game and just get ultra greedy with value bets, betting way bigger than optimal to try and claw it back. Sigh.
I did claw it back playing chinese after the game broke, but I'm annoyed about how I'm playing holdem lately. When you have 4/5 months without any semblance of a heater I guess it affects you somewhat, but I should be strong enough to keep playing at least my B game during hard times.
I think dairies in general lack this, so I will be posting two of the hands I mentioned above as hands I've butchered. See what you guys think, hopefully someone will say they aren't that bad!

Hand 1.
UKOPS main. About 20 people left, itm, £12 ftw. 6max, 4k/8k blinds NO antes.
Villain opens 16k btn playing 190k, I call
in bb playing 360k. New table, no reads on villain.
I check villain bets 18k, I raise to 36k. (Tried to make it like 39k but can't type in bets in the Sky software very easily, was timing out so just minraised - just to get him to fold all his air, plus some good turns to bet)
check check. He snap checked the turn. So almost definitely he's capped at Kx
I jam 140k effective into 110k. He calls reasonably quickly with AK.
Unless the river has improved him, AK is pretty much the top of his range, and he has lots of worse one pair hands that find it v hard to call, even AK finds it hard to call. He only beats a pure bluff, and not that much that c/raises the flop is a pure bluff - specifically complete airball hands like the one I have. All gutshots make straights or pairs for showdown value and obv the flush gets there too. Also puts his tournament life at risk deep in a big comp. That was my thinking anyway.
Disclaimer: All amounts are a rough guess
Hand 2
Gala cash game.
Vs John and Papu. John limps early positon £1. I raise
to £6, Papu calls in the blinds, John calls.
Check, John bets £12, I call, Papu calls. Could fold here, but could have AJ beat and some hands crushed like QJ.
(or some other brick). Check, John bets £20, I call, Papu calls. Again could fold, but it's a small bet (20 into ~60). Can bluffs spade rivers too. (lol)
Papu snap checks (defo never got anything better than one pair here), as does john. Can tell he hates the river. I jam £200. Papu folds. John calls K9.
Hope you all buy in my next staking thread xxx

"but can't type in bets in the Sky software very easily"
there's a data entry issue, so watch out typing bets in mtts.
"When you have 4/5 months without any semblance of a heater I guess it affects you somewhat"
<3 this though. so lol
