I would love to add an APAT trophy to my cabinet (brag). We have a kind of love/hate relationship. Did you know I was the first person ever out of an APAT comp? I still hear that applause when I try and sleep at night.
In all seriousness I do still love playing APAT events even tho my record is very poor in them. On a rebuilding roll, they're ideal to play. I am representing Team APAT in the upcoming forum champs in Bolton. Coming 3rd in Cov, esp to Brian Martin, was pretty soul destroying
[/quote]
It would be soul destroying to come behind/after/with Brian Martin IMO, I feel your pain.
Personally George I think you're great. I realise I am shit at poker so my opinion is worthless but i'm not afraid to put it out here! You're also a top fella, so I'll read your diary even if it is boring as hell because you don't get your hand stuck in driveins etc. If you need any more-exciting stuff to keep your readers titilated feel free to copy and paste from my blog if the need ever arises

George
I have a Prop for you - to keep us both in line and to the grind. I too am a shot taker (i think driven by the fact I have always been able to reload, and I cant play an $11 MTT to final table bubble for $95).
Anyway - I am trying to grind, have built several small rolls only to have a big sunday and do it all in!
So I propose a year long prop in 3 stages:
Stage 1 - turn $100 into $1,000 by grinding (having 20 BI minimum for stake being played at all times). SNGs or cash only
Stage 2 - turn $500 into $5,000 (having 20 BI minimum for stake being played at all times). SNGs or cash only
Stage 3 - turn $1000 into $10,000 (having 20 BI minimum for stake being played at all times). SNGs or cash only
The only caveat is you must do it on 3 separate sites, ie once you complete stage 1 - you change site for stage 2. Rake back counts.
Not bothered in having a monetary exchange (but will if you wish) - just a straight race
what do you think?
ok mate will try but think rb shouldnt count.
Im putting 100$ on stars now... will be playing 3.25 45 manners to start with

Have you started?
I am going to struggle to not include rb on my ipoker acct. I will see if I can get them to pay into the sports book instead of into my acct
I will be starting on I poker. It's also an acct in £ but will just convert as I play $ games only.

Good luck with the blog (again!) George as well as rebuilding the bankroll.
Are you ever going to write a tourney report for the APAT event in Coventry? Would love to here about Brian Martins chip counting skills again
Also some hands I'm interested in.
If you want some easy money at cash you should pop up to Leeds. Loads of very soft 50/1 & 1/2 tables.
See you in Bolton.

A short story now and if ever there was an example of the old adage "A dog is for life and not for Xmas" then this is one.
Two years ago my daughter wanted a hamster. She was 11 at the time. Shelley wasn't really keen because she doesn't really like rodents and also didn't want to be the one who'd ultimately have to look after it if suddenly the pet lost it's appeal but we relented. Esme is quite responsible but we made it quite clear that it was her pet- she would need to clean it out/feed him/play with him etc. She called him Ozzy and for the first couple of weeks everything was great. She was taking really good care of him.
A month into it, it was clear she was already bored of him. Not cleaning him out, handling him. We were nagging her to clean him, handle him- take care of him. Should we as parents step in? IDK- all I know is the poor hamster was not getting the care he deserved. It's shitty when you think about it sometimes- we, as humans, keep pets but when we're bored of them there's sweet f all the poor pet can do about it.
Two days ago I asked Esme when was the last time she cleaned Ozzy out. She couldn't even remember when or when she'd handled him. Me and Shelley went out last night- I said that while we're out she needs to make sure she cleans him out and handles him.
Fast forward to this morning- has she cleaned him out? Of course not. I request she does this again. She takes the cage downstairs to clean in. 5 mins later Kieran (Esme and Kieran are twins) pops up.
"Dad, Esme has a problem"
"What?"
"She thinks Ozzy might be dead"
The stench as I enter the lounge confirms our suspicions. Esme is upset and in tears but tbh I have little sympathy. Ozzy could have died anyway- think hamster don't live that long anyway but I suspect he's met his maker due to neglect which saddens me. Can't help feeling guilty myself for not taking care of the poor sod myself.
Protocol on how to get rid of said body? We're not really sure.

Hey bud- probs not gonna get round to doing the full report but ask me about any hands and I'll report on them.
The cash game at our local gala is extremley soft but I never seem to reach the cash desk with any money. Go figure!

George hamsters rarely live past two years and mostly pop off their mortal coil around 18 months, which is why they can be a crap pet for kids
Very unlikely it died of neglect so don't feel bad.
Unfortunately as Dad you have to go through the whole rigmarole of burying it in the garden as she's too young to cope with the reality ofchucking the hamster into teh wheely bin.
Can I suggest a bunny next time? Once he's tame he can live free in the garden so if your daughter forgets to feed him it's not a major panic, and they tend to live a bit longer.
