After winning those two pots I go pretty card dead. I'm opening a fair amount with the usual range of hands although I've reigned it in quite a bit. Number 1 because it was just spew/boredom and secondly- for some reason- people never believe I have it I finish first break with 22k after winning a decent pot against Fintan Gavin- Irish chap- nice guy. Never played with him before but I know he came second in EPT Barca one year (coincidentally saw it on tv). Anyway he rolls in late and sits down at 50/100. I am in mid pos and open Q10 to 250. Folds to him in bb and he says "I'll give yer a spin" Before the flop comes down I jokingly say "Do you have to?" oh the banter.... Anyway flop is a rather pleasant QQ5 rainbow. Gavin decides this spin will involve him leading into me for 300. Usually I would just flat here but I have a feeling Mr Gavin is going to do something quite special to I make it 825. Sure enough the insta 4 bet to 2400 comes in. hmmmmmmmm. Cawl. J on the turn which now puts two spades on board. Gavin announces 3850. I eye him suspiciously. I do a call but to be honest my bum's twitching a little. I haven't been running the greatest of late and whereas I should put this down to a rather unfortunate cooler if he has me, I am worried about him actually somehow having me beat. I push the thought to the back of my mind and call again. River is the now putting a possible flush up there and Gavin checks. I really think I should check behind here. He doesn't call worse and if I do bet and he jams I would have to puke but I can't help but bet 5100. He snap folds- putting me on AQ claiming he had Q9.....

OK bit of whinging and PHA comes to the CC.
I go card dead. This is where live poker can be so boring but personally live>>>>online on balance esp. these bigger events. Sure- your local 50 f/out is a lol donkfest but I love these stars event. Disagree with the wise one over the feel of them. They're reasonably priced, have a ton of value, a great structure and really well run by stars. Stars tour>>>> Grosvenor tour (tho Im not a hater)
I get queens. A guy who I've met thru Tony who plays on sky opens utg. He's fairly solid so I just flat QQ third to act. Board is K75cc. Check Check. 2 on turn. Check check. K on river. He bets like 2/3 pot and I sigh pay off his AK.
Then I find Kings at 75/150. Boom. I open to 400. Stato- aka fishcake calls as does BB. Off to A Q75cc flop. I 875 on flop. Andy calls. BB folds. 6 on turn. Check check. A very nice 8 on river. Marv. Board is now Q7586. I check very slowly. Andy tank bets 2450
Question
What does Andy have? And should we cawl???

I don't think he checks the turn with a value hand like a set or Q. Knowing him he's got there somehow. Could be vbetting 86, or has 9x cc or A4cc, 45cc. i know u didnt ask, but id bet the turn a lot of the time vs Andy.

For my backers I am going to finish this. I found myself in a few pots but kept losing. This seems to happen to me in the mid stages of tournaments. I don't know if I get too impatient/ if poeple are making plays or simply I'm not hitting flops but a combo of them all resulted me being down from a high of 25k to 12k. I need to look at this part of my game because it is happening too often for it to be a coincidence. Guy to my right opens to 1400 at 300/600. I jam 10s on button. BB (female) calls all in for 8k. FML. Hope it's a flip! It's not a flip. She has . Weeeeeeeee. Door card is a 10c. Boom. Flop is peeled back to reveal two more clubs and one of her is parsley. Great. I fade tho and start to rebuild back up to 30. Now comes a hand where the inevitable spazz out/ridic move that was never ever going to work comes and I get there. Basically I 5 bet jammed all in with QJ off last hand before the break. I blame Gus Hansen. Luckily I was up against AK and binked a Queen. Dont play many hands till the day ends although again the few that I open result in me cbet/folding. I manage to end the day on 58k after Gavin jams 10s into my jacks and I flop a jack. He turns a 10 for the rubdown. Day 2- woohoo!
